Witchcraft, gardening, herbalism, and wondering through the wilderness
  • How familiar are you with witchcraft?
I've been practicing witchcraft since I was about 12 and possibly even earlier than that. I am very familiar with witchcraft.
  • Have you explored other paths?
I have explored just about every path there is.
  • Have you ever worked with Traditional Witchcraft?
I have followed a Traditional Witchcraft path since 2014. I have removed the deity aspect from my work and feel that it is now more powerful.
  • What does Traditional Witchcraft mean to you?
Traditional Witchcraft to me means not having to abide by the Wiccan approach to magic and being able to have more freedom in how I practice my craft.
  • How long have you worked with witchcraft in general?
My earliest memory of practicing Witchcraft was when I was around 12 so I have been practicing for 20 years. (in 2020)
  • What brought you to our site?
There aren't many sites devoted to Traditional Witchcraft and I can't stand the fluffy Wicca sites.
  • What do you expect to get from this site, and what do you expect to contribute to this forum?
I expect to find other witches who practice a similar kind of magic. We are all different and I hope to add my own spice to the mix.
  • Do you belong to any other online witchcraft sites?
    I do not.
  • What are your strongest points in witchcraft?
I feel that my strongest points are candle magic and connecting with the land.
  • What are your weakest points in witchcraft?
My weakest point is working with the Ancestors and shadow work.

  1. I have been researching my ancestry for many years. I don't feel drawn to practice the craft of my "ancient origins". I feel called to practice the craft of my recent ancestors. I recently discovered the possibility of Melungeon descent so I have been delving into that. Along the way I realized how connected I am to my Appalachian roots and have noticed all of the Appalachian Folk magic aspects I naturally incorporate into my daily life. I am always trying to improve my ancestor work. That's the weakest area of my craft and I feel like this recent realization of how we are connected is a big push in the right direction. I am hoping to delve in deeper as the veil thins so to speak.
  2. I hadn't really thought much about this. Here's my list. My hair grows insanely fast. I have hazel eyes that change color often. Sometimes they are amber and that really gets people going. My nails grow quick and are always long, again people often comment about them. I attract cats I wear mostly black
  3. Are there any planners here? I am quite obsessed with my planner, it goes everywhere with me, and I'm looking for ways to incorporate more witchcraft into it. Maybe special stickers for events or some kind of tracker. I've really neglected my witchy ways lately and I'm hoping combining the two will get me back on track.
  4. Colorado Springs Witchy Women's group next meet up March 4, topic is divination. Message for location.

  5. My Imbolc candle exploded and it took me an hour to clean up, guess that's not a good sign.

Yes, your body and your time are no longer your own. But, the rewards are worth it. Don't feel guilty for finding it hard. It is normal. Sometimes the best way to be a mother is to take time for yourself. And sometimes the most responsible thing we can do is know when to ask for help.

And, well, may the force be with you:).

Thanks everyone! My daughter is only 8 months, so it will definitely be a challenge.

  12. Season 2 is much better than season 1.
  13. For our veggie garden we add a fresh layer of compost each year and till it in. It gets really expensive because we have about a 1/4 acre all garden. For my flowers I just plant directly in the clay with a layer of mulch. A lot of my witchy herbs are grown in pots around my patio/outside altar.
  14. I have a ton that we plan. We have a huge garden with veggies, but my strictly magical garden includes: Sunflowers, lavender, mugwort, wormwood, borage, rosemary, catnip, thyme, basil, lovage, feverfew, mint, lemongrass, datura, assorted wildflowers, and angel's trumpet. These are separated between my front flower bed and my back patio/ outdoor altar. I'll have lots of pictures once everything is going strong.
  15. I can get just about anything to grow even in the horrible southern clay soil. I didn't plant the Datura, the seeds must have been mixed in with the mulch we bought. We had to do extensive excavation at the front of our house so I know nothing that was planted there before came back.
