  • How familiar are you with witchcraft?
I've been reading a lot on this site while waiting for registration to open, and while I can follow most of what's discussed, I know much less than I thought I did.
  • Have you explored other paths?
Around ten years ago, I bought a couple of books on witchcraft in an attempt to learn more about it. They turned out to be Wiccan books, and I lost interest because it felt too much like church to me. There were too many rules for my liking.
  • Have you ever worked with Traditional Witchcraft?
Now that my children are older, I finally have the time to explore my interest and learn about witchcraft. I've only recently started researching, mostly on this site, but I haven't done any spells or other things. However, I've always had natural abilities that I didn't recognize as witchcraft.
  • What does Traditional Witchcraft mean to you?
It's hard to put into words, but to me witchcraft means being in touch with your inner self and nature, and learning to use the power you have inside to influence your life and others' lives.
  • How long have you worked with witchcraft in general?
As a little girl, I used to try and make things happen with my mind. I've also always had dreams about things that hadn't happened yet. So I'd say even though I didn't know it, I've always worked with witchcraft.
  • What brought you to our site?
One of your members, Deguwitchrose, has an ask a witch website. I posted a question to her on it describing my natural interest and abilities, and she emailed me a link to this site. She said she felt I would get a lot out of it.
  • What do you expect to get from this site, and what do you expect to contribute to this forum?
In the couple weeks since I was directed to the site, I've been reading posts every chance I get. I realize this isn't a teaching site, but I've already learned a lot, as well as direction on books to further my research. I hope to be able to help others any way I can, and offer support also. Chances are, I'll not meet another traditional witch in person, so it helps to have contact with people on a similar path.
  • Do you belong to any other online witchcraft sites?
At the same time I found this site, I signed up on Blue Moon Manor, but I haven't been back to it since that one time. It didn't seem genuine.
  • What are your strongest points in witchcraft?
My strongest points, as far as I can tell being so new, would probably be focus, control, patience, divination, and empathic ability. I also feel like I have some psychic ability that I haven't learned to harness yet.
  • What are your weakest points in witchcraft?
I don't know a whole lot about herbs or stones, or the basics of spellcasting.
  1. I don't watch much TV, besides Law and Order, so I've never seen Charmed, or any of those other shows. Another thing I noticed about the trailer for Salem is that it looks like the "evil temptress" is the one with red hair. Of course. ????
  2. Mmm.... boys :twisted_witch: Haha! Wexler, we think alike;) You're right about the Wiccans being the ones to have to deal with most of it. If someone got the idea from one of those shows to become a witch, I think most of what they'd come across on the internet is Wiccan. If they looked up witchcraft in my area, they'd find several groups, meetings, and even classes that are Wiccan. On another note, I also heard that they're making an updated version of Charmed.
  3. You're right, Wexler, it's definitely not accurate. In the few articles I've read about it, they're very careful to call it a "scripted drama", or a "reexamining" of history. It would be cool if it was accurate, but I at least like the dark look of it, and the costumes. Also read that there are male witch characters. Hope this post makes sense, I'm in bed with the flu, and a little out of it.
  4. Saw a trailer for this new TV show that looks pretty good. I believe it premieres on April 20th, on WGN. I live in North Carolina, but I'm pretty sure WGN is a national network. Here's a synopsis I found, and if you want to watch the trailer, I found that by googling: new tv show salem. I don't want to break any rules by posting a link here, but it's worth looking at. Salem (2014– ) Plot Summary (1) Set in the volatile world of 17th century Massachusetts, 'Salem' explores what really fueled the town's infamous witch trials and dares to uncover the dark, supernatural truth hiding behind the veil of this infamous period in American history. In Salem, witches are real, but they are not who or what they seem. - WGN
