  • How familiar are you with witchcraft?
It's my path for almost 20 years.
  • Have you explored other paths?
I started in a wicca teaching coven, but that didn't match with the magic I already had done and things I experienced.
  • Have you ever worked with Traditional Witchcraft?
Yes, the last 10 years I did. Hedge crossing, wort cunning, folk magic.
  • What does Traditional Witchcraft mean to you?
My daily practice. Just who I am although I'm not out of the closet.
  • How long have you worked with witchcraft in general?
Uh, see above questions. It's a path of 20 years.
  • What brought you to our site?
I'm reading this forum for years now.
  • What do you expect to get from this site, and what do you expect to contribute to this forum?
I like to have a place to talk to fellow witches and I do not like Facebook for that. Here you can find every discussion back and because of the good moderation it's a safe and nice place to talk.
  • Do you belong to any other online witchcraft sites?
I'm on Tumblr known as Haga Grimalkin too.
  • What are your strongest points in witchcraft?
Good question. Still don't know. I'm a great researcher but still doubt if that is a good thing for my witchcraft.
  • What are your weakest points in witchcraft?
Keeping up my wards. I tend to set up wards and forget to pay attention to it afterwards.

  1. https://www.themedievalmonk.com/blog/herbal-blessings interesting page about diverse herbs and how they were used in the past. I thought that some people here like to read it.
  2. What a nice quotes!Thank you all for your input.... Some funny, some serious. I like quotes because of it can describe so much in way I couldn't find words for. My favorite: old things have strange hungers. Something what is applicable to my trance journeys or how you want to call them.
  3. That's a bit like liquor making! Good idea! Sounds good.
  4. Is there someone who made wine from dried elderberries? Is it possible? Do you need to add sugar?
  5. I don't have special clothes for it, I'm just solitair and perform magic where and whenever I want. But I tend to do magic and trance traveling/ hedgeriding upstairs in the evenings when it is dark, so often I wear one of my night dresses so I won't be naked and / or getting cold.
  6. O gosh.... I LOVE LOVE LOVE chocolate. And wine. Red wine.. Where's my wine?
  7. Quilting and oldtimer cars (2 Honda classic cars and a DAF classic car which is typical Dutch, I'm from the Netherlands) are my other passions. The quilting is hand quilting and I make patterns with lots and lots of patches, sometimes 4 or 5 thousand in just one quilt.
  8. I think this is something interesting to read through: A Brief History of Magic Wands from History Daily. Enjoy and inform yourself. Not everything is history, but it says something about our collective imagination too. Maybe other folks here have other things about the history of the wand to add. https://historydaily.org/a-brief-history-of-magic-wands
  9. If you have or want to share a quote or (personal) motto about magic, witchcraft and the occult what would it be?
  10. I'm with you Onynx about pen and paper. Although everything is on lots of different little notes what is not practical. Everything is in a big drawer and I'm not always able to find what I need. So I'm writing a grimoire right now. Edited because of a slip on my keyboard...
  11. I still don't know and it doesn't bother me much. They are real and I meet / met spirits on several occasions, but I never asked them this question. I would never do either. It's none of my business, like my path and origin is none of their business. They owe me nothing. In the past when I was quite young I was in theoretical thinking mode too. But when I left that armchair, things changed and a lot of things are just what they are.
  12. I saw your answer very late, my apologies! Thank you for your input!
  13. I'm going back to the original post to answer. Much thanks for the insights about galdr and seidr. I appreciated it! Most of the time it's my own voice that makes the music. I have a few phrases that I start with a deeper voice, low, with a soft like quality. Think of velours. Think of soft silky fabrics. Of soft silky chocolate mousse... There is a point where the voice goes its own way. Louder, higher, sharper. The song goes up and down like mountains. That's the music for my rituals and magic. I tried a lot of things like drumming but that doesn't take me away in the perfect mood or even to other worlds. If you want to listen to drumming, on Spotify there are tracks with drums. If I need to change mood from daily stress to more open for magic music of the nyckelharpa is something what is helpful.
  14. My old friend Iron Horse always learned me that everything can be your ally. Plants, stones, rivers and streams, the ground we're living on, the forests, old stories, the hills and mountains, the weather and so on. Building an alliance with plants takes time. One thing I learned by experience is that plants and trees have another pace in communication than we as humans have. In the beginning that was for me a big big obstacle. I tend to communicate (much) faster than plants do. At this moment I'm offering manure to my climbing rose and prune the rose in shape so I can use one branch to make a wand of it. That branch is growing thicker and thicker now. I believe one day it will be thick enough to be a decent and powerfull wand. Maybe I'm gonna share some blood with that rose to, as the ultimate bonding ritual .... Is there somebody who has experience with offering full moon or other special waters to a plant? What kind of effects did you experienced?
  15. Hi everyone. Is there somebody who worked with hops (humulus lupulus)? I know there are male hop flowers and female hop flowers. Is there a difference between male and female hops in how they work and in the effect it has on the body? Did you find a difference in the magic between those two? Thank you all in advance!
