  5. Just an esrly heads up on some server maintenance whicch will be taking place. The server we use will be upgraded and moved to a new location in May The move will take place on Saturday 24th May between midnight and 6 am British Summer Time (GMT + 1), the site will likjely be unavailable at this time so try to avoid logging in during that time period If I remember, I will post again nearer the time to remind people.

  8. Despite Sandy's post on the 18+ age requirement for acceptance as a member we have found, or suspect, that some people who have joined may well be under this age. In consequence this post clarifies what will happen. If the Moderators or I feel or suspect that someone is under 18, we will suspend their account and proceed to delete their posts, blogs, pictures and any personal information they may have posted. We will then delete their account fully. In cases where this happens there is no 'right of appeal'. We do this in order to protect both members and those who are underage, any discussion back and forth would be pointless and we will not enter into email axchanges about it. If such suspension and deletion happens to you please accept it, move on, live and grow.

  11. Hello All, I was going through the members list, specifically looking at people who have joined and haven't yet posted i.e. the Lurkers member group. In a post Sandy made explaining how things operated she stated we would do this every three months or so. Amazingly it hasn;t been done in a lot lomger than that. I will start to go through the Lurkers list this week and deleting those who joined more than three months ago and who have yet to make a post (one introductory post is all that is required to automatically move new members from the Lurkers to the Seekers usergroup). For those new members who joined more than three months ago and haven't posted an introduction, now is the time to make that post, once your membership has been deleted you will have to register again should you wish to take part in the forum. Edit 15 June .. 160+ Lurkers removed who joined up to the end of January 2011.

Some of you may remember that on the old forum there was a way that each member could set a default font colour for posts that they made in the forum rather than changing the colour every time you posted. The new software lacked this ability, however, Moderators and I have been testing a modification that does allow this which looks to work well, you set it once and forget it, no need to alter colour on every post unless you specifically want to change a part of your post. To set your font for posts click on the down arrow beside your username and choose My Settings. Once your control panel opens click on the Forums tab, then click iFont on the left hand menu and set your font options there. If you ever want to reset to the forum default colours etc simply choose normal or default in the options .. simples :) All we ask is that you don't set your font size too large or choose a colour that is hard to read, otherwise Moderators may have to ask you to limit the size of your font. The attached screen capture shows it in more detail The settings are available to Members and Seekers should they wish to use them.

This is important and warrants posting also in the Forum Rules section so that current members can view it and be made aware of it. Pirated Materials, Cracks, Keys, and Key-Generators Traditional Witch relies heavily on software to accomplish certain tasks – forums, blogs, articles and so on.   20. Warn Status members may notice a 'Warn Status' bar in their profile. This isn't new and it shouldn't be anything to worry about. This is part of the 'warning system' employed by the forum software (our previous software used something simillar called an 'Infraction System'). Up until now on the new software it's been hidden, however, I think it best that it's visible. Members will only see their own 'Warn Status' not anyone elses! So, what the hell is it? It's a system which Moderators can use to issue a warning for various things. Generally, a Moderator will PM a member if they have done something rather than use the warning system. However, if a member were to ignore a PM or repeatedly do something then a Moderator would use the warning system to record it and allow other moderating staff to see it. The warning level graph starts at 0% - meaning no warnings issued, I think every member has 0% at the moment. One warning would raise it to 10% (though it coul;d be more if something was thought serious). If you have a warning you can click on the 'Warning' label above the graph and it will show which Moderator issued it and why. You will generally get a PM when one is issued also. The system allows Moderators to keep track of things on the forum and discuss repeated warnings and what should be done. Generally if a warning is heeded the Moderators will decide to reduce (remove) the warning. I'd suspect the system will remain unused, in the main, since members here are generally extremely good at self censorship and are mature enough to know where and what to post and what is generally acceptable. However, it's useful to have it active in a large community with a lot of members to keep track of. It also provides transparency between any member warned and Moderating staff. If a member ever gets a warning and they want to query it, they should take it up with the Moderating Staff or myself via PM, not in the forum, Chat or Shoutbox. As I said, I don't think it's anything to worry about, but I thought you would all wonder what the hell is this when it appeared, or when you noticed it.   23. Well the migration to IPB went more or less fine, still tweaking some things and ensuring that permissions are set properly. Haven't used the Blog feature since I installed it almost three years ago on the old software! I see there are options to change Blog Theme, Add Blocks to member blogs (these are options for members to create their own theme for their Blog and to add pre defined Blocks to their Blog area) will have to try them out. The theme creation is moderated I think so members creating a theme may have to wait tuill a Moderator or Admin approves it before it shows up. LOL the create new theme is pretty unfriendly, you have to paste in css code to change things, but adding blocks is easy chose the block you want and click it to add.
