  • How familiar are you with witchcraft?
I have been drawn to the craft for life. I am not "trained," but I throughout my life I have willed change to occur. Sometimes successfully and sometimes not. I am a novice to be sure.
  • Have you explored other paths?
I have looked into wicca a few times. Wicca seems to be all that is readily accessible to a person who feels the draw to magick but has no one to learn from. The first time I looked into it, it seemed too convoluted and confusing. It seemed like too much work. I've spent most of my life absorbing the energy I feel around me, but I have no idea where to put it or how to use it consistently. The most recent time I looked into wicca - it was with the intention of trying to "self-teach" My goal was to use what felt natural and scrap the rest. I found this forum during my research - sigh of relief! Finally something that feels relateable!
  • Have you ever worked with Traditional Witchcraft?
Not really. Any spell casting I've done in the past has been pretty haphazard. I have called on spirits in other ways - mostly for divination purposes: tarot, ouija
  • What does Traditional Witchcraft mean to you?
It means summoning the energy/power available to me through myself, my surroundings, and any spirits willing to help in order to direct it toward a change, outcome or other influence
  • How long have you worked with witchcraft in general?
For as long as I can remember
  • What brought you to our site?
Specifically - I googled Traditional Witchcraft and this forum came up. Generally speaking - I am tired of not knowing what to do. I don't believe in all of the wiccan mumbo jumbo, but I didn't know where else to learn. I am surrounded by people who just don't get it. This is who I am and I need to figure it out in a way that doesn't have me calling out deities I don't believe in
  • What do you expect to get from this site, and what do you expect to contribute to this forum?
I expect to get a glimpse into other people's journeys and I expect to share mine.
  • Do you belong to any other online witchcraft sites?
  • What are your strongest points in witchcraft?
Being open to collecting energy from my surroundings
  • What are your weakest points in witchcraft?
Knowing what to do with it
  1. The best advice I could have given myself is to follow my own instinct
  2. @Brigid - at first I thought the deck was a little hokie. I was actually surprised when I was able to connect with them. I'm glad I tapped into this thread though because I would love to get my hands on some of the vintage decks being discussed! :)
  3. I have recently come to acquire a deck called the Witches' Tarot. I was a little skeptical at first because it has a strong wiccan connection, but the more I used the cards the more connected I feel to them. It's almost like they are speaking to me. My intuitive readings are much stronger with these cards than I have experienced with other decks (including the rider-waite deck). So I will stick my witches' tarot deck and enjoy the connection we share
  4. I think the process of inscribing your witch name on your tools is part of a process that gets you in tune with your witchy-self. If your witch name brings you into the witchy zone, i.e. brings forth the energy within you that you will need for the task at hand, then the act of inscribing your witch name onto your tools will effectively charge them with your energy, thereby making them the most effective and powerful tools possible. 5. When I was deciding whether or not to join this forum I read through this post and it made all the difference. Thank you. For me it really is just something within me that i've felt all along. I am now on the path to developing my path. Scarlet
  6. I was in a crowded building the other day and I felt that strong feeling one gets when they are being watched. I looked up and instantly made eye contact with a man I'd never seen before. I felt drawn to his stare, almost like I knew him - but I knew I didn't (and no, it wasn't a sexual attraction thing). Even though we were surrounded by others, they all seemed to disappear. It felt for a moment like I was alone with this man. In my head I heard a voice that said "witch." This experience only lasted for a moment. Then as quickly as it all happened, it ended. Reality set back in and the man disappeared into the crowd. The last time this happened to me I was actively exploring witchcraft (prior to being disillusioned by wicca - at the time, the only material I could get my hands on was wiccan). Once I determined wicca wasn't for me I I kept witchcraft filed away in a mental drawer for years. During that time I had no experiences like this, but now that I have rededicated myself to my practice of witchcraft (sans wicca), I seem to be more open to experiences like this. So my question to all of you who care to respond is whether we are innately drawn to eachother? Can we tell when we are in the company of another witch? Thank you all in advance for your input. This is my first post after the Introduction Post, I can't wait to get to know everyone! Scarlet
