  1. It would be a problem for me too, however the author often makes it clear where the spell has come from. Its not as if each individual spell is pieced together from different traditions, like some cultural Frankenstein, each spell stands alone, in its own cultural context, in its own right. I think it can be a good comparison, too see if you like the feel of things personally :)
  2. Although not specifically about TW, the element encyclopedia book of spells is great as reference purely because it draws from a wide range of cultural backgrounds from hoodoo to wicca. It can be a handy book to leaf through and is good if you want a spark of inspiration.
  3. lol not gonna hyjack this and turn it into a Kate Bush thread - she aint everyones cuppa tea, but I like ""The Man with the Child in his Eyes" but its not one of my favourites. I find "The Sensual World" very witchy, I think i'm addicted :P
  4. Interesting choice of song, personally, this would get on my wick if i was trying to concentrate lol. I don't normally listen to music but if i do its normally a calm Kate Bush song (yes, her again :P) or a shamanic drumming app I downloaded on my ipod which is good to set the length of time for jouneying etc
  5. Treading the mill - Nigel G. Pearson... impressed so far :)
  6. Hey M, Sorry to dig up this old post, but I just wondered what was your thinking behind semen missing the 'dark' nature, and menstral blood having both light and dark. thanks muchly :P
  7. Yeah, I've just got into a relationship so everythings a bit hectic, but I know it will be back to normal when everything calms down. I also think these last couple of years I've been too focused on doing things 'textbook' rather than exploring myself and my own ways which I guess could be a new aspect I'm going to explore
  8. The last few posts have really spoken to me, because I'm going through a patch with the Craft at the moment where i'm lacking the drive to go on. I know I will, and I will continue - I always do, I can't not- Its just seeing it through to the other side. Reading posts of other peoples experiences have really helped me.
  9. trying not to hyjack the thread - I don't know much about the people in glastonbury, i don't often go to workshops, I've never met a Traditional Witch who lives in Glastonbury that i know of. As for the 'dressy' witches - well, thats just glastonbury for you :P
  10. I find that amazing that she doesn't have to even see them. Being able to tell who is a Witch and who isn't is something that really interests me. Some Witches i've spoken to say there's no way of telling (other than the in your face, 10 tonne pentacle wearing types :P), while others say there are ways of telling. I once heard someone say something about seeing a fire within the person - a burning passion. I liked that idea, don't know how well it works in practice though.
  11. i always thought that the raw pure energy comes from the land itself? Big question now: so where do you personally believe it comes from? I kind of see what your friend means, but I don't think there's anything psychic about it when I personally smell it lol, I just kind of work it out because of appearance (jewellery, clothing - we have alot of witchy types around here living near Glastonbury n all :P) and sometimes they will have this herby/earthy smell but I don't know if it something that they'd been burning or a perfume haha
  12. so are you saying that energy in its pure form is 'colourless' and that the light/dark is something that is imprinted by people. I was assuming that this meant raw pure energy has aspects of light/dark. I think if i was to notice a awkward situation between people, it'd be more likely for me personally to pick up on body lanuage and this that can be observed rather than picking up on energy - I think i'm better at analysing people that way. Unless i'm just picking up on it subconciously lol
  13. read this topic from the beginning, took me aaages lol! how do you distinguist between light and dark energy? To me energy is just energy, I can't feel a different between two types. Granted, I'm just a beginner, but how do you guys feel the difference?
