  • How familiar are you with witchcraft?
It is in me. So about as familiar with it as I am myself, and we learn about ourselves every day.
  • Have you explored other paths?
I was raised to be a Christian by my mother and while I did have spiritual experiences on that path I never felt right with the teachings. False teachings feel so wrong, like...a sweater on backwards? I draw inspiration for my spiritual wellness from what I need- Taoism is good for philosophical exploration, Shamanism for finding healing or awakening, etc. I'm open to what organically comes.
  • Have you ever worked with Traditional Witchcraft?
Erm, well. When I was 4 I was visited by a spirit, a tall glowing man who helped me save my mother's life. I grew up wandering in and out of awareness of people around me, when they attracted my attention it was because they needed something from me. I help people find their path in life, get married, etc. It's all instinct. So if organically living as a witch qualifies, then yes, daily.
  • What does Traditional Witchcraft mean to you?
My identity, unless I am viewing Traditional Witchcraft in a manner different than you intend. I am an Erdkind and love the vastness of the universe and living things. So it means all those things.
  • How long have you worked with witchcraft in general?
As a teen I thought learning Wicca (in the 90's) would be my path, that lasted only a few weeks as everything felt artificial and wrong. I had no real understanding of my innate witchiness until recently, though. I am rediscovering myself by looking backward to see all the ways I unconsciously witched.
  • What brought you to our site?
Googling. This is a long story, but I will share it here and hopefully one of you can guide me or share your thoughts- I attended my Uncle's wife's funeral today, and the ceremony was so wrong for the life she lived that I felt the need to meditate and honor her. When I went past the casket I placed my hand on her arm and silently projected my suggestion that she be at peace for her actions and proud of the life she lived. I *saw* her cold body take a breath and strongly felt her presence in the body. This did not feel inherently wrong but I feared I had called and bound her unintentionally. So I went on a hunt for more information this evening. I found some articles outlining why a soul would attend their own funeral and felt better but I would still welcome your perspective.
  • What do you expect to get from this site, and what do you expect to contribute to this forum?
I would like to share my experiences in a place they would be welcome, receive feedback, and learn.
  • Do you belong to any other online witchcraft sites?
    No
  • What are your strongest points in witchcraft?
Perception, healing, "hedgecrossing?" I've only learned that last term today but I often cross planes in dreams and speak with loved ones and others who have passed.
  • What are your weakest points in witchcraft?
    customs
  1. It is fun and interesting to read about your tools! I'm with the majority, I think. My tools are whatever inspire me in that moment or I feel drawn to use. Lately I've been spending a little time each week to learn a new term for what I'm doing, or research an experience I have had. I've always been a witch but I've spent almost no time learning or developing my skills until recently. I do use Taro, some decks upset me and I don't like touching them, I can identify with the original poster, Firebird. For me the art of the deck informs my ability to use it, I first learned Taro on a normal playing card deck and had pretty accurate readings for my friends just for fun. Now I have a steampunk deck and both the art and the author of the explanations are pretty gentle and bright. They are appealing :) I also use my aura as my strongest tool, when I'm making a candle or a balm or charm I think what I am feeling towards it is probably the most powerful part of the whole thing. More so than any object. I have to believe in the integrity of my ingredients too, soy and beeswax candles...organic, etc.
  2. In the Chinese Zodiac I am a Metal Monkey and I truly have an affinity for all things metal. I love my cast iron. I would be curious to see what elemental sign you are paired with on the Chinese Zodiac to see if that is influencing your metal sensitivity. My mom is also very sensitive and metal corrodes when she wears it. The exception for me would be watches, if I don't have a rubber buffer between my skin and the watch back then my body will drain the watch battery. I'm too grounded :D
