  1. http://www.heathenhof.com/making-your-own-butzemann/ I have just a small yard and did one for the first time this year. Basically a poppet/scarecrow used during growing season. i love him and he has done great job with all the plants and herbs I have going. You do need to burn him before sunset Halloween when Holda pulls the all spirits on the Wild Hunt and it's left empty but I adore mine so much.
  2. Gardening especially herbs and swimming. I want to start spinning so I can eventually spin flax.
  3. I make a holder for my money jar using knot magic to amp the it up. Worked great. I use knots more often now.
  4. Oh my gosh thank you so much.
  5. 1. When you say ancestors, I believe it’s not just blood-related family from the past, but I guess ancestors could also mean spirits that have a strong connection to our spirit, from past lives or from the time we spend in the spirit world, am I being mistaken here? That is why I use “my dead’ when making offerings or call out to them. That included any dead who might be working with me. 2. I could not find enough information on spirit guides, I wonder to what extent can they be trusted? Who are they and why would they have such a big interest in us, Unconditionally? I couldn’t emphasize this enough, Unconditionally. I never thought much about guides until I started with the spiritualist stuff. It’s big with them. They work completely in our best interest so yes they can. This group feels they are all humans who walked the Earth plane and are now in spirit. They can be family or just people who have chosen to be guides for others. Why do any spirits work with us? Plants, animals, humans all seem willing to help the living who respect them. Being a witch to me means working with spirit more than anything else. I don’t usually question why one comes to help as long as they are helping. We call out them in our work intentionally or not. 3. Before I start on any ritualistic spirit communication and astral traveling, I feel I have to learn more ways to protect myself, my surroundings and ways to banish those entities that might become harmful. Do you have any insights on this or reading material I could look into? It would be greatly appreciated. Also, I believe that even benevolent entities and spirits can harm us without meaning it, as their energies are so potent and their mere presence and touching could prove problematic sometimes, am I right or is this something that I shouldn’t ‘worry’ about? I started in Wicca and do the white light thing. I also energy clean the house on a regular basis. I have never had issues with negative beings or what you are talking about. I refuse to let them in. Just put my foot down and say no. Your gatekeeper guide should be helping you with this as well.
  6. I really liked the take on it. Pretty sure Thor's brother is Loki.
  7. I haven't started that one yet. I was told if you can get to episode three it get pretty good.
  8. So rented this around Halloween on Netflix and it finally showed up. Way more than expected. It's all ceremonial magic and moody. Not really scary but it's interesting especially if you like witchcraft. Shows the work real ritual would take if you want to really mess stuff up. Really loved it.
  9. As an animist, hard polytheist and Heathen I think gods exist with or without us. I am sure there are "gods" we know nothing about out their doing their thing. I view the gods as spirits who have over the centuries established work with humans and eventually had cults form around them. Then some, if you read Heathen myth were humans who brought great favor with the local spirits and became associated with a concept, like fertility. I do think deities have duties just like land spirits do so they tend to be busier than our own dead. That is why ancestors and local wights are accessed regularly and the gods when needed for larger scale community things like good crops, community divination, luck in war or travel.
  10. If you ate more interested in something Germanic, Urglaawe is a good place to start.
