About Dad0Seven

  • Birthday 07/21/1959

Converted

  • Location
    Texas, US
  • Interests
    Reading, taking walks, making friends
  • How familiar are you with witchcraft?
The formal, direct practice of witchcraft, not very. I do know that witchcraft can be used or abused, and although much of it can be learned, some individuals are "tuned in" better than others. I feel that my wife and two of my children fall into this category. Shadows, footsteps, orbs, voices, having to sleep with the TV on to get any rest, that is "normal" in my household.

I don't feel that a 'conversion' is necessary to practice witchcraft. I do believe that dedicating oneself to witchcraft is a serious committment, however.
  • Have you explored other paths?
Raised a Seventh-Day Adventist. Have not practiced for about 12 years. Have investigate Druidry, Gnosticism and Wicca, and, although each have interesting aspects, I haven't had anything "click".
  • Have you ever worked with Traditional Witchcraft?
    No I haven't
  • What does Traditional Witchcraft mean to you?
Traditional Witchcraft as I understand it would provide a personal "non-traditional" (irony, there) means to care for my family's mental, spiritual and physical needs.
  • How long have you worked with witchcraft in general?
    About 1 year
  • What brought you to our site?
    Google web search
  • What do you expect to get from this site, and what do you expect to contribute to this forum?
looking for like-minded individuals to share my growing process with, open to constructive criticism as well as support.
  • Do you belong to any other online witchcraft sites?
    Witchy Living
  • What are your strongest points in witchcraft?
I feel that I'm a quick learner, and not afraid to try new ideas.
Been told that I have a "knack" for writing spells.
  • What are your weakest points in witchcraft?
    My inexperience.

  2. No problem.. I do understand about being swamped. I'm just happy to meet someone else on here from this "neighborhood" as you put it. :)

I've really enjoyed being on TW. Lot's of stuff.

Thanks for writing back....hope to talk to you more in the future.

    Dave

  3. Sorry for the long delay in replying. Been swamped these past few weeks. Good to meet someone in the "neighborhood". I'm about 120 miles west of Texarkana. Welcome to TW!!

  4. Thanks for Welcoming Me Dad0Seven!!!!

  5. Just wanted to say hello. I'm from Arkansas....more folks here from Texas...than Arkansas. Just joined this month....looking for neighbors. :)

  6. It happened when we moved into our present house. We had barely gotten the moving truck unloaded and the neighbor across the street (a witch) knocks on our front door with a homemade loaf of bread and said "Welcome to the neighborhood, 'we've' been expecting you!" It sort of took us aback, but she's been the best friend/neighbor we've had since moving here. Seeing as how my wife and I have come out of the broom closet over the past few years, her greeting was very insightful.
  7. Addendum: A wife comes home from her annual physical elated. Husband ask what's up. She replies "My doctor said that I was in great shape and even complimented me. He said that I had the breasts and tummy of a 21 year old." Her husband thought for a moment (obviously not long enough) and replied, "Did he say anything about your 50-year-old ass?" "Nope", she replied, "Your name didn't come up in the conversation at all....".
  8. I may have mentioned elsewhere that I met my wife, Anita in January of 2000 through the Internet. I was working evenings in a insurance call center near Dallas, TX and she was at home in the middle of an ice storm near Atlanta, GA. We have been together ever since. You're right, a LARGE dose of discretion is a good idea!! Her friends were convinced that I was an axe murderer before they met me. :omg2: She uses the Internet alot in her practice and, being an empath, does pick up alot of information about her clients just by reading their emails. Would it all dry up a go away without the Internet? Perhaps, but I believe that other ways would resurface that were used prior to electronics.
  9. Correct me if I'm wrong but many (if not all) of the above recipes I'm understanding are to be steeped into a tea (hence the honey to taste)...I can see someone trying to ingest the ingredients directly...:munch::sickwitch:
  10. Speaking of things going missing, my wife's favorite Tarot deck has a habit of "hiding" from her periodically. She uses them regularly and if she's been particularly busy with them after a while they get "misplaced". Then, a few days later, they'll re-appear (somewhere in plain sight, to add insult to injury). It drives her batty!!!
  11. LOL, my m-n-law lives in Cumming and gets more snow than we do! N. Ga is beautiful, nonetheless. I agree - warmer than Minnesota!!!!

  12. Hey ... I'm not native to Georgia! Born in Texas, raised in Minnesota. Moved to GA in '84 to get away from the snow & cold.

  13. just saying hey from a couple of Ga transplants...we miss Georgia (and I'm part of the 1/3 that weren't born there).

  14. OMG....methinks Sandy's been sharing her house(with me)...annoying isn't it? Although most of our "carrying on" has been historically attributed to my wife's sensitivity to this phenom, obviously, they're cool with a "newby"...and yes, we blame the poor dog for the smell pockets, although the floral scents can be pretty stifling as well. The power company has us on call block--we've had them out several times...somehow, we have a "power substation" in our attic. We've burnt out numerous appliances, a computer or two have fried, light bulbs flare up and then pop. We've had the house rewired to no avail. You can't take a photo in our house without an orb butting in somewhere. And the TV has to be on 24/7 for background noise so we can get some sleep. It's no wonder my wife stuffed this for so long. She's more accepting now and works with whatever is happening, but.... Our house is an old farmhouse that's been swallowed by the city around us, been remodeled a couple of times...we have thresholds in the middle of hallways where you can hear footsteps at night (a kid headed for the loo?) and they'll stop at the "threshold"...wife thinks we have a portal. Kids and "sensitive" neighbors either run down the hall to our room or come in the side door rather than linger in the hallway...and this is NORMAL for us!!!! Not for the faint of heart. Anyway, your description really struck a chord. Oh yes, my oldest son's new electronic dartboard is a hit with our "residents":party9:
