This time of year its mostly weeding. That's not a bad thing gives me a chance to slow down and think on things.

  6. Note to self: Beliefs are an obstacle. There's no need to have them.

I'm with you there. I find going around believing things takes too much time away from experiencing them. I'd much rather get to know the world, than argue with it about the way I think it should be. Or worse the way someone told me it was.

  8. Pan, Green Man, Osiris, Lucifer, they are all the same being, just different names

That's a bold, broad statement with more study I think you'll find it don't hold up. I could give you Pan and the Greenman on the face of it. However the Greenman seems to be made up of a dozen or so mythologies. While Lucifer and Pan have to make I through a metamorphoses of being, a reinterpretation and split of religion, and a few centuries of doctrine. Then the link is still only artistic impression.

So, I stopped in at the local sportsman's club last night and struck the question up there. A lot of the folk there work in forestry and wildlife and a few have camps on your Alaskan border. So take it for what it is, barroom talk from folks with wildlife experience. After a few rounds we hit a few general conclusions no one there could argue. The sent we associate garbage is excreted, its only fond inside the bear as a trace in the urinary tract. It can easily be cleaned from the pelt an...

Now that is a wonderful part of the world. My travels there where too brief and sometime ago, but I still remember it fondly. We have black bear here and have to go a long way to run on to grizz. Now you got me curious if diet, breeding, or climate may down play the sent up your way. I know captive diet of mostly dog food cuts it back a bit, and trash(or human diet) plays it up. Course its nature not a rule and I've been surprised dropping in on them more than once.

That can get your blood moving. You likely know this, but around here we teach the kids that if they smell trash go the other way. They have a sent most think is akin to a dumpster. You can often smell 'em at 60 – 150 yards and it lingers a bit.

  12. This time tomorrow I will be in New Orleans. With 2 of my daughters. Celebrating their milestone birthdays they reached this year- 16 and 21. Love me some N.O.! I want to take the girls on a ghost tour. I’ve been on two. One allowed you to explore inside a “haunted” house. I know they would love this, but I have no idea which your that was, of the fifty available. Anyone happen to know?

I can't say about the tour your look'n for, but enjoy your trip. I haven't been down there in some time.

  13. To my fellow animal lovers: Paintballs are toxic to dogs apparently. He is fine, but I had to take Loki (dog) to the ER for eating paintballs left on THE FLOOR by my step children grrr. Anyway, I did not know we had them in the house- or well, they wouldn't have been in the house. But for everyones info- they can be extremely dangerous to animals.

I'm glad he is okay. I've heard that they where poisonous to dogs but never look in to why. Why they want to eat them I'd say is because their dogs. If you like something it must be food right?

  15. Does anyone know if wildlife is likely to eat tobacco left outside (for offering)? And if so how dangerous is that to them?

    1. PapaGheny

      PapaGheny

As I learned it. Nicotine is in tobacco naturally and poisons to a degree to most animals. That said domestic dogs and rarely cats are the only animals that I've heard of trying to eating it. A bit shouldn't hurt anything just don't let your dog around it.

  21. I am not well read on this entity as many of you are... Ive heard some descriptions, but has anyone ever heard of Lilith presenting herself as a female humanesque shape clothed in something like white flame? Yep, its a weird ass question. Any takers?

    1. PapaGheny

      PapaGheny

That description is nagging at the back of my mind, but not coming to me. If I remember I will let you know. In the mean time, it smells of Hebrew origin to me likely 1st or 2nd cent. So I would look at the Jewish writings around there. That could make silver and white cross-reference as purity, pure fire, or fire of creation. So this could be a reference to the mother of night or the mother of Cain?
