1. Thanks for the help now hopefully he will publish the deck........ I saw the card and was instantly drawn to it. My thanks to all of you!!!
2. Ok my fellow tarot addicts, I found a picture of a Death Card while browsing the world wide web however I am not familiar with what deck it is from. I would be forever grateful to anyone who can tell me the name of the deck that the card belongs to. Here is a picture of the card. Thanks. Lurid Wolf
3. If you think about it depending on where the witch lived would be more of a determining factor in what they used for making their besom. Some of those trees are not readily accessible to them. Not to mention that the besom as mentioned is a staff that has been disguised so it would most likely be made of a wood that resonated with the witch using it. Just a thought.
4. I agree with the running water I have a creek close to my house that I use, especially for stuff dealing with banishings, cleansings or hexes. I don't need a bad mojo build up in my magic room or in my yard. Now if it was a prosperity spell or something positive I can't say I could disagree with keeping them around I agree with Anjel it gives me some idea's.
5. I have been working with the tarot for about 2 years now, on my second try the first time I gave up cause the books did not work for me and at that time I had no one to bounce idea's and thoughts off of. Anyway, I think you should do what feels right with you. Take the idea's and information from the books and people you learn from use what you feel is right and go from there. There is no real set rules for the tarot (if there was there would be a lot fewer books on it) they are really just a tool for your intuition a lot of the time. It is good to know the history and the meaning of the cards traditionally but I know personally I can pull the same card for two people in different readings and it could and usually does resonate a different meaning. Look into the the cards feel what they are telling you not necessarily what a book or a person is telling you that they are supposed to tell you go with what you feel if you are getting zip you can always go with the traditional meaning of the card or move on and come back to it. As far as others touching the deck it is a personal choice. I have people that I let touch my decks and others I don't, it depends on how there energy feels. Learn from yourself as you go as well as others (your rules will likely change over time). I always take advantage of anything I can learn from if it doesn't feel right then I don't use it but I usually will always pick up something I can use. Tarot is a fun journey don't stress on it enjoy the ride and let go. Once I learned that it was much easier for me. I hope this helps.
6. I agree with KW about the definition of pagan. It's a catch all. Personally I think people have sided with the word pagan because it is used more often when describing nature base "religions" or beliefs. I consider myself a witch but for some reason people find it easier to grasp the meaning of pagan much more easily. As long as Anjel doesn't mistake me for a chocolate covered bunny I don't care if someone refers to me as pagan or as a witch. :-?
7. I am reading 3 books right now, Taking up the Runes, A animal familiar book, and Astrology for dummies (lol) Have about 6 others I'm thumbing through even slower lol.
8. I think soap fairy has it. Lavender and honey are always good offerings for the fae. Welcome them but let them know the boundries. They will listen as long as you are sincere but firm.
9. Does anyone use a pendulum board there are several differnt types. I have just gotten a few designs together and plan on making a few. My wife likes to work with her pendulum I myself have not. I use other methods, but anyone interested let me know or if you have a design in mind I can see what I can do. (I work at home depot so the materials are not expensive) just p.m. me and we can talk about it.
10. Knife (truthfully knives notice the plural ) & swords) My herb garden and other herbs mortar and pedastal Hawk feather I use for writing when it calls for small bottles and jars candles my crystals tarot witchboard black mirror cauldron for several uses not just incense Actually a lot of other items I tend to pick up for what ever reason. Usually I feel a connection to something wether I can use it right away or not I will get it. I dont think other than a few basics that you can compile a list for everyone to use. Everyone Kind of follows their own feelings and intentions. I think we all like our witchy things but dont forget that's not what makes a witch nor is it where their power comes from, they are just tools to help or trinkets to remind us of our intention when working a spell.
11. I always wear one, I have 2 that I wear I change them out as I feel I need to remove any negative energies that have built up. One is an oak tree in silver with a gold pentacle over it both encase in a circle and the other is smaller in a circle of celtic knots. I wear my for protection. I don't wear it on the outside but I have a somewhat physical job and no matter how long the chain is it still sometimes ends up outside. It doesn't take long for me to notice that it has though, thanks to peoples misunderstanding or ignorance of what it is. I have never been accused of being jewish though that is hillarious. I also have a few around the house mainly in my office. As far as it being ruined by the wiccans I think it would take a lot more than that to ruin such a powerful symbol, that has been around a lot longer than Wicca. I am not wiccan, however they at least have a better understanding of what a pentacle is compared to most people. I can't ever recall having a wiccan accuse me of being a satanist, or Jewish for that matter.

13. My wife excepts my beliefs but does not follow the same path. She tends to hold on to her christian beliefs mixed with some new age. She keeps an open mind. We, so far are letting our children learn from both sides and they can decide for themselves when they are ready.
14. It took me a lot of years to actually figure out why nothing felt right. I was always interested in and studied a lot about witchcraft and the occult as well as several other religions. I think what took me so long was that most of the books on witchcraft are very wiccan witch never felt right either. It was a long time before I started practicing taking bits and pieces from here and there and a lot of help from a friend I found here, till things felt like they were balanced and on track as they should be. I would never wish to be anything different if anything I would wish I would of realized what I was sooner. Nightshade said something that interested me, that I never really gave thought to. "I would like to be able visit the city and not feel the weight of foreign energies crushing in on me like an avalanche, or to be able to stop worrying that my aura is coming on too strong and I'm freaking people out, or a million other things that affect my daily life." I have the same problem when I am out in public places especially if they are crowded or in close quarters. I always dismissed it as me being a recluse or some type of anxiety. I realize that the reason I am a recluse is because when I do talk to people that I don't know (even about trivial stuff) they tend to be uncomfortable even when I made every effort to be very toned down. Most of my friends (true ones) have either very strong aura's and personalities or had to know me for a long time before they were comfortable. Does anyone else experience this?
15. I don't think you will find many god/goddess people here, if any. I mainly work with the energies from nature, ancestors, spirits and such. Not to say I don't read about or take bits and pieces from diff. deity lore and symbols. I think most everyone on the forum are not going to off and pledge them selves to a deity when most of us believe that our energy comes from within as well as our intent, knowledge, and nature. A little trial and error is always good too. ;)

19. I would also have to agree with everyone. There are several uses for a athame or dagger witchever you prefer within trad witchcraft. I have one I use that was given as a gift by a close family memeber. Not to mention several others that I have around the house. Anjel is not the only one in here that comes prepared..... ;-)
20. I'm 34 3-16-1973 pices and born in the chinese year of the ox
21. I think of witchy as kind of a style or manor in which someone conducts themselves. Witch seems to be kind of a changing word for me, Maybe not so much changing as growing. The more I learn on my journey the broader the word becomes, but i think that the best way to answer what a witch is to me is someone who is balanced and grounded with the earth and not only draws from the power in and from nature but also returns the same.
22. I have a question and would appreciate as much feedback as possible. As I have explained before I have studied a lot about WitchCraft and wicca as well as several other areas in the same realm, but I have not practiced much mostly from inexperience, confusion as to which would be the right way (everyone has there own opinion). I notice that almost every wicca book Is full of information on having/making a book of shadows. and I have noticed that it is refered to as a grimoire here and a few other places. What is the difference and how is it different with Trads than wiccans.
