My own path is technically a trad one. In that respect I've been on a trad path my whole life.

Traditional Witchcraft to me means moving forward whilst keeping a hold of beliefs, values, and practices from times before

    No.

  1. In my experience it is best to think about the ramifications of any type of working before setting out and making it reality. By properly understanding your own intentions for wanting to do that specific working, sometimes you'll realize that it wasn't needed at all. In my own practice words and the wordings of my spells don't contain the power, it is my own intent and clear will. Put more reflection into your craft and ponder your own wants and needs. Careful consideration does usually limit the splash back and "negative" effects of spells.
  2. There's another store not too far from treadwells called the atlantis bookstore. It's quite similar to treadwells, so maybe good to visit both in hopes of finding something that catches your eye? ^^ There's also a shop called Wicca Moon, I haven't visited it myself but it has great reviews.
  3. The hands on that "spirit" are slightly creepy xD
  4. That may be true to some extent, however this post was specifically dealing with menopause and the aforementioned herbs; red clover and oatstraw in an infusion scientifically do help as they contain high amounts of phytoestrogen.
  5. @Ravenshaw I think your comment was a tad too broad. A lot of herbal medicines are scientifically backed. Just because some of the things one person uses might not be up to snuff doesn't mean all of them aren't.
  6. what about the fabulous Loreena Mckennitt? From her celtic folk music and all of her song titles, makes my witch-dar go crazy.
  7. I browsed through the authors web page, however it seems the first two books aren't available anymore, instead he has set up a condensed pdf version if you purchase the two newest books. Not 100% sure how I feel about that, going by the comments here. I feel like I'd have loved to read and work through the first two to really benefit from the more advanced ones. Guess I've missed out on this!
  8. The most embarrassing book purchase I've ever made was Solitary Witch: The Ultimate Book of Shadows for the new generation by Silver RavenWolf. I'd thought due to its rather large size that at least some of the information in it could be useful and insightful. Some of it was interesting, maybe not completely useful. Back to it's size though, it's a difficult book to keep hidden and when friends would come round there eyes would instantly settle on that one in my bookshelf. I guess it's more of an embarrassing book if any traditional witches are around, as maybe Wiccans enjoy her work? I don't know :rabbit:
