  • How familiar are you with witchcraft?
I am very familiar with different routs, traditional Witch craft I have followed for the past 3 years. Where as Hoodoo, Wicca and ceremonial Magick I followed before that for 12 years. But saying that, I left wicca about 6 years ago and have been more on the ceremonial so magick side of things, whilst also practicing trad craft without having something to call it.
  • Have you explored other paths?
Yes, Ceremonial Magick, wicca and hoodoo
  • Have you ever worked with Traditional Witchcraft?
    Yes
  • What does Traditional Witchcraft mean to you?
For me it is a practice, a way of life, to be able to shape your reality and others to how you want it. Thats not to say it doesnt have aspects of spirituality in it, I think it does. Within the craft I acknowledge the divine presence, the ancestors and many other spirits. But the craft of it is to manipulate and shape reality. To me it is also about walking the world of spirit as well as the physical world, the shamanic aspect of "crossing the hedge".
  • How long have you worked with witchcraft in general?
I have worked with Magic for 12 years, well having knowledge of working with magic, if you get what I mean.
  • What brought you to our site?
    Wanted to find out more
  • What do you expect to get from this site, and what do you expect to contribute to this forum?
Gain knowledge and maybe share some if I can
  • Do you belong to any other online witchcraft sites?
    no
  • What are your strongest points in witchcraft?
I love to gain knowledge as well as practice what learn. I am good at going into myself, i.e. through meditation etc, so this helps on the shamanic side of the craft
  • What are your weakest points in witchcraft?
I think I am sometimes too rigid on sticking to a path and not blending. I tend to keep ceremonial magick apart from Traditional witchcraft type stuff, and If I do hoodoo, I will not mix it with anything I have learned from traditional witch craft. I think I should maybe be a bit more lenient on this, after all, i'm sure traditional witches back in the day would of taken on some aspects of whatever kind of magic was accessible of that time, and today many forms are accessible. Also a lot of the grimoires that influence ceremonial magick have also influenced traditional witchcraft. So taking more from ceremonial magick and "blending" shouldn't be a problem, I just cant get my head around it.
  1. I had a lovely morning. Although it was cloudy and you couldn't realy see the eclipse it certainly went dark and the energy in the air was eerie and quite magical. Here is a picture of my offerings I left during the eclipse. The pic was taken a little after the eclipse was at its optimeum "cover" as I was in a meditation/ritual while the eclipse was at its fullest. 2 crows followed us (I went with my partner) to the site where I done the working, then came swooping down and watched only 2 metres away, a definite sign I was in the presence of the spirits, as crows mean a lot to me. Then when we left they enjoyed the part of the food we left. My partner just couldn't beleive it, we have been together 3 months and is just getting used to my craft. Hope you all enjoyed the eclipse.

  3. I had a a strong feeling today to work with Genius loci on the eclipse. I think I am going to go to my spot where I work out doors and see if I can connect. Not sure if this has a history of eclipse and the genius loci being "closer" in the eclipse period? Anyone know?
  4. Oh that's interesting, I didn't know about that, the power problems. For spell/ritual work I'm thinking it will be a good time for most. I think hedge crossing would be a good one, seeing as it's a new moon too. Some cultures never do anything, in particular they wouldn't eat on the new moon because they thought it would make things impure, so some do a big cleanse after the eclipse.
  5. Hey everyone, Friday morning there will be a solar eclipse. The moon will be covering something like 80% of the sun where I am from in the Uk. I personally will be going to the beach to witness and honour this occasion. What will you all be doing if anything.. If you will not witness this in your part of the world what does the eclipse mean to you anyway? Have you done any type of ritual on a solar eclipse. What do you think it meant to the traditional witch?
  6. I have tried this. Is very interesting
  7. I just meant a little over sensitive to me missing out "male", I do understand the divisions and difficulties there has been in the whole male witch, female witch. But we could be getting a little silly when we feel we can't miss out certain things, having to cover everything we say, make sure we mention the males too. As I explained, I had only read into the practices of female pellars, I know of a few males but not really looked into whether they used the bible or not. They probably did but that's actually why I didnt speak on that. That's the only reason and that I had the pellar woman I was just looking into on my mind. But I get where you are coming from if you thought I was an ignorant woman or man, thinking there were only female witches, that males couldn't be pellars, do magic or seek to become spiritual. That's definitely not where I'm coming from. I did work with the saints a little when I practiced hoodoo, i worked with the archangels a lot too, mainly St micheal the archangels. But within my traditional craft I do not work with the saints.
  8. am loving reading these posts, all very interesting
  9. Sorry, I am saying this from a mans point of view and know very much about men in wicca, I'm a male witch who used to be Wiccan for 6 years, I was actually just watching something about a pellar women and had pellar women on my mind. Maybe I should of put man and woman, as a male practicing witch, very interested in the practices of the pellar men and women. But to be honest I have read more about the pellar women so I don't think you should be so sensitive to this, I was just referring to the females because I have read up on the femals so couldn't really speak from the males of pellar. Not because there were no pellar men, I know there was. I'm male, and practice witchcraft and I am secure in the fact men and women are witches. I know that, most intelligent witches know that.
  10. I completely agree with the wake up call you had. A book with stories, lessons and words of power . A really good way to put it
  11. Just thought I'd start a discussion on the bible and magic. I just wondered how you all feel about using the psalms from the Bible, if you use them at all that is. If you don't, it would be interesting to hear your views on it. Personally I have used the psalms for a long time now. I feel they hold a lot of power and work great for magic. I have had a lot of people frown at me when I mention the bible and witchcraft. I know its a common tool for the traditional witch but I have noticed a lot are still unfamiliar of the blending of this. One thing that I have thought about is, yes witches did use the bible, but all be it they were witches they were normally women and men of the bible. So how do you explain, say a pagan using the Bible? How do you feel about that? Is an interesting thought. Personally, I feel there is enough evidence to at least suggest things like the psalms pre-date Christianity. Theres also the cas that Christianity would of been blended into the practices of those who practiced the old ways, kind of as a disguise out of force, and we are then left with a different "flavour" of witchcraft that is left, I think this is the case with hoodoo. But a lot of the old pellars were women of God, and the holy trinity was employed with great faith.
