  • How familiar are you with witchcraft?
I have a short history with the Traditional Craft but I have studied it very hard for over a year now, I much dislike the term witchcraft because it seems to have preconceived notions about it and I often get confused with Wiccan practitioners, and neo pagans. I have had extended amount of contact with a long time practitioner of the Traditional Craft (over thirty years experience) and this is where I learned most of what I know about witchcraft. however I have discussed the topic with many people who are also practitioners of the Craft and am open to ideas, that are of course (and must be) traditional.
  • Have you explored other paths?
I was born to a "Catholic" household that later left the church by the time I was 15, from there on out I was intrigued with other belief systems, considering that by the time I was 9 years old my CCD teacher had already labeled me a heretic (yes it is true). I have studied religion since about junior year of high school, delving into the beliefs of Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Shintoism, Gnosticism, esoteric traditions, Native religion, extinct religious beliefs, and to a lesser extent Judaism, cult membership and beliefs, and other small follower belief systems. all of which interested me but never made much sense, until I found a practitioner of the traditional craft and have followed that ever since. a pantheistic belief system, based mostly on going within techniques, and acknowledgment of energy flowing through everything that we can manipulate are hallmarks of my belief structure. My beliefs are much to complicated to be put into a short paragraph and are seemingly very philosophical, I apologize that I cannot articulate my beliefs better, but they will become apparent within specific contexts.
  • Have you ever worked with Traditional Witchcraft?
yes, I do very little ritual, do not recognize any gods (as I am pantheist) so do not give offerings and conversely never ask for anything in return. I go within quite a bit and believe this to be a strong foundation for any work that may later be done. I have also done work with Other World travel, dreaming (both lucid and non lucid), herbal medicines, and divination techniques.
  • What does Traditional Witchcraft mean to you?
I believe that the craft is a way to understand the universe, the energies and life forces that flow within it. I believe it both to be a practical and esoteric tradition that means slightly different things to everyone involved. I believe it to be the way of wise individuals (even though I have met some very un-wise people involved with the traditional craft) and think of it as a way to allow us to see beyond the physical to the natural state of everything.
  • How long have you worked with witchcraft in general?
I have been involved with the traditional craft for over a year, of course in general I believe you to be asking how long have I been exposed to witchcraft ideas, with the answer would be around 4 years.
  • What brought you to our site?
a friend suggested it to me as a way to expand my knowledge of the craft and meet some like minded individuals who may satisfy my thirst for more and more knowledge.
  • What do you expect to get from this site, and what do you expect to contribute to this forum?
I wish to gain more knowledge about the traditional craft, I only expect to find opinions that I value and can take into consideration when forming my own beliefs. In return I can always offer my opinion, I am not to high on myself but I have been involved very heavily in intellectual and philosophical circles, and at very least I can confirm beliefs or make one think.
  • Do you belong to any other online witchcraft sites?
Yes I am currently on TraditionalWitchcraft.net, I have the same screen name so I would be easy to locate.
  • What are your strongest points in witchcraft?
I do not quite understand exactly what you ask but I think I have an idea. I am very much working on going within, visualization, Other Side experiences, energy control, and developing other Inner abilities. I think these are my strongest suits, but I have a history with herbal practices as well, and enjoy talking about them very much.
  • What are your weakest points in witchcraft?
I am not good with wording of any type, not very poetic in nature. I do not do much ritual, and I second guess divination techniques because I am scientifically minded and sometimes that doesn't help (usually it just confirms my beliefs more.) I need more research and study on everything and everything of mine could use improvement though and I realize this.
  1. good day everyone, Mountain Witch, Haha, I assumed there would be a lot, I just never came across any in all the medicinal uses of herbs books I have, I thought this was strange. I have never felt the effects of a stimulant while using some of the more common herbs you list like mint, ginger, cumin (But I can see why that would work). but perhaps I am not taking enough, thanks for the list I shall experiment! Be well, MagDis
  2. Good day all, I was recently driving, as I do every Monday for 3 hours, and became very tired. I do not wish to be dangerous so I drink caffeine, but I am not supposed to, I have a heart condition that makes it bad for me to drink caffeine. I was wondering if any of you have any natural things caffeine free that would keep me alert, besides putting hot sauce in the corner of my eye! thanks Be well, MagDis
