  • How familiar are you with witchcraft?
I've been drawn to witchcraft since a young age, even referring to myself as a witch until around 5 or 6 when I was told to stop. I retained my interest in the occult and have dabbled here and there (mainly with Tarot, crystals, etc). I mixed potions and cast spells as a child, created altars in the woods, and went on fairy hunts with my friends. As I got older I grew "ashamed" of my interest in witchcraft and only shared it with various friends who also were drawn to it. As an adult, I've come to a place where I do not care what others think of me, and want to follow a path that is right for me, with or without others.
  • Have you explored other paths?
I first became acquainted with Wicca however it didn't feel right. I'm not someone who is drawn to organised religion, and I didn't like to dogma or creed.
  • Have you ever worked with Traditional Witchcraft?
Not in any kind of comprehensive way beyond research. Most of what I have done has centred around Wicca.
  • What does Traditional Witchcraft mean to you?
I feel it's a type of witchcraft that exists beyond organized religion. It's older and deeper than many modern pagan traditions.
  • How long have you worked with witchcraft in general?
My entire life, if the looser definition of witchcraft is to be applied.
  • What brought you to our site?
  • What do you expect to get from this site, and what do you expect to contribute to this forum?
To gain knowledge as well as a sense of community. I would like to contribute whatever I can, be it assistance or just ideas!
  • Do you belong to any other online witchcraft sites?
  • What are your strongest points in witchcraft?
At this point, things that are more nature based, as well as affirmations.
  • What are your weakest points in witchcraft?
Most of it! There's much I'd like to learn and improve on going forward.
  1. I'm doing slow integration now. I'm usually one to jump right into things head first, but lately I've been a slow mover, in all areas. I find this method works best in my life. For instance, right now I'm reading everything I can get my hands on about witchcraft and paganism. I've been doing Tarot much more often, been practicing grounding, shielding, contacting my spirit guide, etc. When I move, I plan to set up an altar, do some simple spells, etc. I think this slow moving actually indicates I might be maturing as a person, haha. I'm excited more than anxious, because I know if I tread carefully and think things through I should be fine. And if things aren't fine, they'll come to pass.
  2. This is all true. I'm definitely interested in going to the chat about it, I'm curious to see what other people's experiences have been on this issue and how they (if they) avoided it. Ah, there's so much to consider. Better to think about all this ahead of time rather than in hindsight I suppose!
  3. If I can't sleep, no one can!! Muahahahaha! :vhappywitch: I think my anxiety around the matter will decrease as I continue learning and researching and such. I don't plan to do any spells on those close to me for a good while yet, and I'll make sure to really think over what it is I'm doing before I do it. What's this basic protection you're talking about? Same sort of idea as a "white light" protection for the self?
  4. I like dark music, to an extent, but my tastes in it are pretty strange. I like rapcore a bit, bands like Cypress Hill, Rage Against the Machine, etc. I'm moreso a pick and mix kind of person, I like lots of stuff from many different genres, but mostly stick to Alternative rock.
  5. It was very unsettling. It was thrown away halfway across the city and was back the next morning! I remember staring at it over the course of several days trying to figure out just what I was going to do with it. I think the entity was attached to one of the people present (not me, one of my roommates). Something has been following her for years and she has managed to subdue it through her own spiritual actions, but it still lingers. Every once in a while it'll pop up again and cause some havoc, but I think the board was the door, but my roommate is the foothold. She's gotten several spiritual healings, but that only seems to put it to "sleep", so to speak. I do suppose if it were a demon it would have powers beyond what we've seen happen around here, and wouldn't hesitate to demonstrate them.
  6. This is one of the things that scares me about starting on this path. I'm afraid of losing things I hold dear to me (example: my boyfriend) due to some kind of retribution from magic. I plan to avoid that by not performing any love/relationship spells (not on us, and not on others!), or any spells with him for that matter. I still get slightly anxious thinking about how other spells might affect that area of my life. Am I overthinking it in that regard? (it wouldn't be the first time I'd overthought things in relationships!)
  7. My experience with demons is very limited...although a few months back, through the use of a Ouija board (we're fairly experienced with it) we managed to bring something that pestered us all for a month or so. It would say disgustingly violent, sexual things through the board, thump around the house, etc. Parts of the board even kept coming back in the house no matter how many times we threw it away. We put the whole thing in a bag of salt and it vanished without a trace. We haven't seen it since and there's been some light spirit activity in the house. Even when we try the board again, it comes through right away but much, much weaker. Given this experience I've had, and the experiences of others, I would have to say that demons are a concentrated evil energy. I don't know how wise it is to call on them, but again, my experience in this aspect is limited. They seem to only want to annoy, pester, scare, and hurt. I personally like to use Catholic imagery when trying to get rid of an evil entity, not because I believe in it necessarily but because I grew up Catholic and the images feel sacred and powerful to me. I think that evil distorts itself to appear in how we will be scared the most. I also think that the Abrahamic religions have shoved a lot of neutral or positive entities into a "demon" category. Again, this is just my opinion.
