I love to read & cook. I also enjoy the company of good friends.
  • How familiar are you with witchcraft?
Well, I've always been drawn to the Craft. And what I've learned so far is that there truely is no right or wrong way to "practice witchcraft". It's just something you do in a way that intuetively feels right for you. I feel the seasons. I work with the seasons & the moon. Gosh I'm just not sure how to explain that I just do what I do.
  • Have you explored other paths?
I have explored Christianity. I just can't grasp the concept of "God" wanting you to worship & follow along purely out of fear of banishment to Hell.

I've explored Wicca. I disagree with most of it. There seems to be so much emphasis on stuff to do before you can actually work magic. All these tools you need to be effective...

Today I just think that we're all part of Nature. In nature there is good & bad. Light & Darkness. Sometimes you have to embrace the dark side of life. Better than raging against it.
  • Have you ever worked with Traditional Witchcraft?
I don't really know how to answer this either. Am I working with TW if I'm burning green candles while envisioning a better financial situation? Or by cooking certain foods during certain times of the year? Is it TW to do an instant spell for something I'd like for my convenience?
  • What does Traditional Witchcraft mean to you?
I think what TW is to me, is living your life with practices from the old ways. Times that pre-date organized religion. In connection with the Earth, Nature, Spirits, Elements & Ancestors. A natural way of achieving your desire with intent backed up with action taken in the physical realm, although that may not always be neccessary.
  • How long have you worked with witchcraft in general?
Gosh, I have been reaching out to the craft, on & off for at least 20 years, but have been most active with it for the last 6.
  • What brought you to our site?
I think what brought me here is the fact that I realize that I am still searching. Finding info on TW is difficult. Bookstores & the internet is saturated with Wicca. I guess I'm looking for more information on, I guess what I'd call "real" witchcraft.
  • What do you expect to get from this site, and what do you expect to contribute to this forum?
I hope to learn more about TW, because it's so hard to find. Everything is so saturated with Wicca. I was relieved to read the home page that this is NOT a Wicca site. Contribute? Well, in the beginning, probably questions. I will express opinions if I see something I have an opinion about. But only with respect to the other members. We all have our own beliefs.
  • Do you belong to any other online witchcraft sites?
I was a sponsor at The Witche's Voice, but am currently only a member. I've never posted over there.
  • What are your strongest points in witchcraft?
Not sure I have any strong points....yet.... Intuition...mine is usually spot on.
  • What are your weakest points in witchcraft?
Ha Ha! They're all weak points these days. I've stepped back from the Craft for a bit. Now I'm stepping back in...& very possibly starting over.
  1. Hi! Just a quickie to say I'm still around. Just doesn't seem like it as much. Got some pretty heavy stuff to deal with in RL, so, although I'll be poppin in from time to time, posts might not be so much for awhile. But I'm totally still here, & hope to be back to full posting soon! :)
  2. Hi sophia! My thougths exactly. I finished it a couple of weeks ago. I mostly read it to get ANY ideas about hexing, as I never entertained the thought until recently. Gave me some good ideas of constructing a hex or two of my own. ;)
  3. I think I remember reading about this...I think it's a method she uses to turn negative energy around you into positive...? I think...there is a bit of Wiccan stuff in there, but it's easy to overlook.
  4. Well, since I don't feel a connection to any other country, & only truely feel connected to where I was born in GA, .... That would be a no for me. :)
  5. Oh wow! What a great post! I too feel very connected to where I was born, in Savannah, GA. (And lately I'm feeling a strong pull to move back there, & hope I can make that happen sooner than later.) My very soul just "feels better" when I'm in Savannah. And my connection to the ocean, which I totally feel the absence of, while living here. Not so connected feeling where I live now. I don't pray to any diety or gods or anything, but I do feel a spiritual connection to where I'm from & my ancestors, being family that have already passed. I agree that the practice of the craft connects us witches, different as we all may be. I don't feel a connection to any particular past era though. Not yet anyway... I think that just because one may stop the practice of the craft, you'd still be a witch & have that connection. At least I know that to be true for me, because I did step back for awhile, & changed my path, yet I still was & am a witch. I still felt a connection....with nature & the energy I draw & direct with intent. I've always sort of "felt" (the only word I can think of) the change of the seasons, the tides when I'm back home, the moon. But, like with anything else, if you stop doing something, I'd expect you'd get rusty at certain things. Maybe not be AS connected, but still feel something. (Ok, now I'm rambling!) I've just always known I was a witch. It's just who I am & what I do.
  6. I'm reading it now & this is exactly what I think about it too. But as someone who is new to hexes & stuff, it's probably a good one to start with. :)
  7. My copy of this book is on the way! Gosh, my wishlist on Amazon has like, tripled in the number of books I'd like to read since finding TWF! Good think I love to read...now if I could just get a few more hours in a day so I could actually get to read more! lol
  8. My husband is an athiest. He shares most of my beliefs, but he is not a witch. But, he does have spot on intuition.
  9. Sandy, your tattoos are AWESOME! :D KitchenWitch's snake is totally pretty too! I should really go through this whole thread & check out all the pics. Love to look at tattoos. :)
  10. 1. What is your favorite witchy movie? Practical Magic. I just LOVE Stockard Channing in that! 2. Where is your favorite place to do a spell? On the beach. Unfortunately, I no longer live near one, but hope to move back soon. 3. Where do you NORMALLY do your spells? In my kitchen or at my little workspace in my office at home. 4. What type of spells are your favorite? Not sure anymore. Been awhile since I've done one, but I think I like cleansing spells around my home best. Home feels nice & fresh after a good cleansing. 5. What is your favorite ingredient for a spell? Cinnamon 6. What is your LEAST favorite ingredient to use in a spell? Hair 7. What is your favorite witchy holiday/festival? Torn between the Summer Solstice, (cause I'm so happy the days will be getting shorter...I prefer the dark half of the year)...& Samhain of course! 8. Do you have an animal spirit, If yes, how many? I don't think so. 9. If yes to #8, name the animal spirit(s): n/a 10. Name your favorite witchy character: Luna! ME! lol j/k...I dunno. 11. When was the last time you did a hex/curse? Have never done one. But will if the need arises. 12. When was the last time you did a blessing/healing? Gosh I can't remember....Remember I had stepped back from the craft until recently & finding this wonderful site. 13. When was the last time you did a binding? Really really long time ago. 14. When was the last time you did a love spell? Never 15. Have you ever done a spell on someone just because you were bored? Nope 16. What is your strength as a witch? Intuition. And creating protection charms. 17. What is your weakness as a witch? The ability to keep myself from feeling or being physically affected by the pain of others, especially family members....I'm sure there's a word for it, but can't come up with it right now....need more coffee! lol 18. If you could go back in time to meet ANYBODY associated in witchcraft, who would it be and why? Any of my ancestors who practiced the old ways. I just recently learned my grandmother was into candle magick. Too bad I learned this several years after she passed over... 19. How much of a "modern stereotyped witch" applied to you as a witch? Oh wow, well, I dunno. I like to put on a witch hat & have my photo taken in a pumpkin patch every fall...does that count? lol 20. How long have you been a member of this forum? Not long...maybe a month... YAY! This was fun!:witch_bounce:
  11. There are a couple other tattoos I'd like to get, just trying to be really really sure of what & where. :)
