  1. I am extremely lucky that my SO is every bit as spiritual and witchy as me. We hung out with the same kind of people in highschool because we were both witches, but we never really got to know one another well. 12 years and a few bad relationships later, we reconnected on FB and it was one of the things that made him really want to know me more, was that we were still very much the same in our beliefs and knowledge. We both have different aspects of the craft, but it's wonderful that I never have to feel weird or outcast or feel that I have to explain anything I'm doing to him - he knows and agrees - so I am extremely lucky in that respect to have someone who understands and really gets me. Same goes for our parenting belief, my parents brought me up being honest with me about everything and letting me decide what I thought was right for me spiritual wise, and I involve my 4yr old and explain things to her as much as I can and my partner and I believe in doing the same thing for her and any future kids, give them knowledge and the choice to find their own path :)
  2. It's alright hun, RL always gets in the way some time or another :D You just focus on you and we'll be glad to hear from you
  3. Hey i'm 26 and I don't think i'm young or stupid! :D hehehe just joking but I know what you mean, that's why i've been thinking about and designing my tattoo's since I was 18, If it's going on my body forever then I'll be damned if it's not going to be exactly what I want and PERFECT! :D
  4. ^exactly, I'm REALLY damn picky about how things are going to look if i'm going to look at the damn things forever, i'm going to be one of those bitchy tattoo customers - show me all your stuff, tell me how you'll colour it? NO No improv to this design, GET IT RIGHT.....LOL :D
  5. ^Worse than childbirth??? What kind of birth did she have!?? That's a lovely tattoo by the way, very nice! :D Last night i sat down and sketched all the tattoo's and components I wanted done.....I'm going to be tattooed all over my back if i get them all done! :D
  6. This book sounds very interesting and it's nice to see some more TW themes in books coming out
  7. oh ok then :D Sorry thought i'd pissed you off by repeating something - LOL nice to know you'd tell me straight up! I admire that!! :D
  8. ^You do know that i was making the point about the way that they describe colours, not how i see them don't you? How most of them see the world in black and white i.e. evil and good, not myself. sorry for being a pain in your ass
  9. Do we really? Wow that's pretty cool for Australia but i must admit it's kinda easy to find stores and readers etc - I hear QLD is pretty laid back and most of the pagan events are there or in South Australia. Hehehe well you'd be welcome down under, that's for sure!! :D
  10. something else along these lines gets me wondering too - if black is supposed to be the colour of evil, darkness, death etc then why do nuns and priests etc wear almost nothing but black?? If it's supposed to be associated with the devil etc surely they'd choose another colour? I know that not all do like the pope wears white and red, cardinals are red and they throw purple in to some fathers etc as well but mostly it's black. If it was to show piety and purity surely they'd all wear white? It just bugs me about how they use a colour to define evil when they wear it themselves - does anyone know why it is?
  11. I believe that to truly understand yourself and your craft you have to accept the darkness as it's part of life and part of the light. To quote Albert Einstein - every action has an equal and opposite reaction - and i believe that is what the darkness is, to every bit of love and kindness, there is a bit of hate and cruelty, to life there is death, night to day - of course there are varying shades of grey in between but i think to gain a better perceptive of all things around you including the craft, you need to accept and learn about the darkness inside everything. I still have some trouble with this as in, i understand that people do die and some people have reached the end and do need to die to create more life but it still hurts in the way they go or how early they go. I don't see the lesson in taking a baby or child away and perhaps until i learn to accept this i won't fully understand or accept my darkness
  12. I agree that I don't think I need a connection to other countries to make me a witch, i stand on the earth or in the sea and that sea is connected to all the other bits of earth on the planet in one way or another - so i am connected to every country in the world even by just a little bit.
  13. Bingo! I don't think you are a lesser witch at all, every single one of us is very different from the next. In a way i think that's what kinda makes us witches, being different :D
  14. For me being an Aussie witch I don't really feel a connection to Australia as a country per say because i think we've been pretty shocking to the Aboriginals and our history is still very young, but I feel connected to the earth/world as a whole - as in, everywhere I stand in a forest, desert, beach i'm standing on the earth and i'm connected to everywhere else in the world just by a tiny little speck of dirt or drop of water. I do feel a stronger pull towards the lands of the UK where my ancestors come from but I also feel a pull towards Russia, Prague etc even though to my knowledge I have no ancestors from there. I think that is why witches, no matter where they are from can form a connection with one another - we are all part of and connected to the earth, thus connected to each other, well that's what i think anyway
  15. I'm also a fan of Kim Harrison and Kerry Armstrong and i've read the Mayfair witches by Anne Rice, I thought they were all very good but i do prefer Kim Harrison's stuff. The Witches of Eileanan series by Kate Forsyth was a good one and some pretty close descriptions of witchy things. She's also written a follow up series called Rhiannon's ride which is good but IMO not as good as the first and just checking out her website she's writing another which although is a kids book interests me. Check her out here - http://www.kateforsyth.com.au/books-for-adults.htm

Cradle of Filth are awesome, i like Evanescence which can be dark at times, Lacuna Coil, My chemical romance, 30 Seconds to Mars, NIN, Within Temptation, Seether, Slipknot, Drowning Pool, Stone sour,Smashing Pumpkins....well i guess i'm on the lighter side of dark. I like stuff i can sing to, don't really like a lot of the screaming that happens in death metal though...
  19. Lol it's his words for spell work or magic. You know in movies etc where they wave their fingers and something shoots out of their fingers etc, that's what he's implying :D I think it's funny that most of the husbands on here have a name for our craft :lolol:
  20. My husband doesn't share the same path as me but he is encouraging and understanding of mine - he does like to try and follow shamanism but he's still unsure of where exactly his faith lies. he does like to give me shit from time to time, he still calls my spell work 'your wudgy wudgy stuff' whilst making wand movements with his arms......git!
  21. thanks Sandy - was about to say the same thing :D
  22. LOL i know how you feel - my little one just turned one, man that went quick!! Well it came and got your dad too so maybe it's just a nasty bugger - do your parents still live in the house??

  24. That sounds like a good idea, it means that seekers have to post and get to know us all better that way and it ensures that some members aren't pestered by seekers pushing for membership - if that ever happens :D
