  • How familiar are you with witchcraft?
I am quite familiar with witchcraft in the basic form. I started when i was young and was taught in a round about way by my grandparents. Mainly through folklore stories. I started with candle magic and writing spells on paper. Later I found Wicca and it was not witchcraft it was a religion which didn't sit well with me. I found the best witchcraft is from your heart and your own intent.
  • Have you explored other paths?
I started as a child between 10 and 13 years of age. I was helped by my Grandmother and Grandfather, Mother, and my Aunt. They came from the old country Poland. It was all kinda Christianized but it was still there. As an adult I started to explore and went thru Wicca, Huna, Shinto, Druidism, Norse, Pow-wow, and nothing feels right. Right ? What is right. From my young childhood until I was 24 I was all on my own. And it was the best time - my hodge podge of magic, rituals, and the folklore worked the best for me. My current stuff is full of my hodge podge of things with a lot of Polish traditions of the old country, working alot with eggs which is kinda like Pysanky, Decorated eggs, but I use them from healings to curses.
  • Have you ever worked with Traditional Witchcraft?
I would have to say no, I never called it Traditional witchcraft, didn't know it had that name. It was just witchcraft to me, plain and simple. Thats how I consider what I do. I just did what I did, sometimes with simple tools like paper and pens, herbs, spices, incense, candles, oils, eggs, pendulum, cards, and what nots. The wand is no better than my finger and I have no use of a chalice. I like my besom though. I have gotten into my Polish background and started to search out Polish witchcraft and use what I have found and incorporated it into what I do now, its brings back memories of my grandparents, mom and aunt who taught me things as a child.
  • What does Traditional Witchcraft mean to you?
Trad Craft is a way of life - you feel it stiring as a young child, always hiding in
the background, you work with without knowing, always growing, soon you embrace it, maybe not knowing, no rules, only you, it is your life, your breath,
and it just who you are. Also check out what I said in the beginning of the forum, in the Starting the Traditional path.. it really says it for me.
  • How long have you worked with witchcraft in general?
I have actively been working with it since I was 12 turning 13 that summer. It was when my friends and neighbors branded me a witch.. so since they thought so, I decided that I would actually start doing real spells, hexes and curses came a little later. But I believed in myself.
  • What brought you to our site?
It was a longing to find others like myself. I was searching out a site or two that had actual witches communicating with each other, not one that would test you, but one that you could be yourself on. Be able to talk to each other about spell, hexes, curses, for instance having blood in a spell and not get flamed over it, like on many wiccan based sites, or those so spiritual love and light ones - thats just not me, so I googled and found this place..
  • What do you expect to get from this site, and what do you expect to contribute to this forum?
I want a place to chill out, to talk to others with the same basic beliefs and ideas I have, to learn and share my experiences in witchcraft and other areas too, like herbs for example. I place where I can be me, and to grow with no repercussions. This forum is a wonderful diverse group of people that are happy to give you direction, advise, give ya a swift kick, all in a good way.
  • Do you belong to any other online witchcraft sites?
No, not any witchcraft sites, Actually I don't belong to any other groups anymore.. I play with one other witch like myself now a days.
  • What are your strongest points in witchcraft?
I think my strongest is my hexes, and my use of eggs in all kinds of spells.
  • What are your weakest points in witchcraft?
My weakest point is hedge riding, not that good. I also have seen where I go in cycles in doing things, I kinda go dormant and then go hog wild for a while, its up and down.

  1. I just let it tell me which is yes and no, I have never done any protection of any kind while using it. Mine is very accurate and always has been.
  2. I use the Mythic Tarot! It was the first deck I got, which was given to me. For several years it disappeared and I just got it again! I have kept the deck in sight now, although as of late I haven't used it, yes, I think this thread is a reminder that I need to get back at things again.

  4. When I realized what I was back as a young teen, the only thing I remember that I connected to was the land - nature, animals, etc. I have French/Canadian, English, and Chippewa Indian in me (that I am aware of), but my Grandparents (adopted) were Polish and they always said that they brought the old country with them when they came here. I think that when I got older and looked into wicca and read books on it, it was their romantic desire (IMO) to be part of history over the pond, like it gave them permission to be a witch and that you need to connect to this part of your past. I totally understand where some people are connected to their ancestors historical lands, there is much energy there and many feel "at home" there. For me, I have never had a great desire or a connection to move or visit a certain place because of my heritage. My connection is here in America and its mine history on this land that I am making. I am not sure what our connection is with each other or just being a witch is, maybe its our relationship to the earth, and how we naturally work with what we have around us to make things happen that connect us.
  5. :eye:Wow, Great Thread! I'm another one who can't believe I never seen this thread before! Reading all the messages/responses, there have been so many aspects brought up to give thought to. First of all I don't look at darkness as being a void, I find it to have a life to it not a nothingness. I was once told that i needed to in brace my darkness inside of me to grow, face my inner most fears. Which I have done over the years, truth is, more keep surfacing. I have never seen black or darkness as being evil as some say, nor do I see white or light as being good either. I love the darkness as it makes me use other senses that sits in the background when in the daylight, my favorite times are actually daybreak and twilight, when its neither dark or light. I feel a heightened awareness of all my senses during this time. Like being in a very dark forest in the day time. To me this is exhilarating. I did find Sandy's response about healing to be very informative, I never thought about it that way. Once or twice I do remember using like a lazier beam energy to burn out a disease and then send healing energy (other energy) to heal them. I do agree with Anjel about dark energy as being more intense and more raw than light energy, its not as intense or as raw. From what I have seen here most of us would rather live and work in more natural setting, country side, forests, wilderness, rather than in the urban or city settings. This having nothing to do with darkness but rather man made environments verses natural ones, and how the energy comes/feels to us, we are witches and gravitate to nature and natural energies I believe. While some of us thrive/or live in these other environments (man made) they do seem to become hectic to them at times. I honestly believe that Leigh sums it up very well...

  7. I use a purple candle too! LOL I usually just ask for those of my ancestors to come and help, I have not just asked for some member of my family to come and help, yet. Now that I have new knowledge about my family I am going to be working on this to learn more about them and myself.

  11. Well its been a little while since I put anything here.. but in the dreams section I put my wacko dream about making dolls. Kinda weird but after some suggested that i give it a try and maybe it was a past life memory I think I will. At the very least I might make a neat doll. :) I have not really looked into past life stuff yet, it was just something that I might get to some day. Now it kinda interests me. I got a pattern for my dolls, tomorrow I will be going to the fabic store to get the things needed.. gezzz I cant wait for some reason very excited about making them. I got about 8 different doll designs in my head, want to make a typical halloween witch, got a bone collector, a tree nympth, a frog nympth, a flower fairy, my egg colletor, a bee keeper, snow queen, my bag lady, earth mother, evergreen lady, oh no my list is getting bigger than I thought! Got ideas for male dolls too... LOL

LOL! Actually I think it was me being sensitive to the slease that used that hotel room. It was not a better hotel, he was only looking to give me a good nights sleep in a way that I did before. I know I didn't feel "right" in there.. actually I don't really like staying in motels or hotels, I get weird vibs from them.
  13. I have used mirrors for many years. I remember doing the Bloody Mary thing at my 10th birthday party sleep over and honestly can't remember what happend but thats when the fastenation started for me. I had a vanity mirror in my bedroom and ever since then I would see eyes or movement in the mirror not all the time but sometimes in the dark. I would wake up feeling that someone was stairing at me. Since then I put a cloth over the mirror when I slep and do not, will not have a mirror in the bedroom. When I travel and go to motels I always carry a few candles and will light them in front of the mirrors. I was told that the candle light is so intense that they can not see into our world. I have used mirrors as portals to other worlds and scrying, and one time I used a mirror in our new house to draw the darkness out and into the mirror and then I placed it into a black cloth and burried it, thus the darkness was trapped in the mirror. I use them for deflective magic, shields and many other things too. I have only had one bad experience with mirrors, back in the day of waterbeds and mirrors over the bed, my x took me to a hotel with a waterbed that had mirrors over it, I was about 8 mts pg for my son, I remember loving the waterbed cause I could finally sleep on my stomach, I remember waking up laying on my back and I saw several pairs of hands on my stomach in the mirror it scared the shit out of me and he had to take me home right then. I love mirrors and have several most in storage right now though, one on the wall opposite at the front door to reflect out. I also remember years ago when I was at a wake in the family they had put black cloths over all the mirrors in the home. My mother only told me it was out of respect for the dead. When my grandfather died I asked about it and she told me that the body was not in the house so it was not needed, but I did notice that my grandmother had taken all the mirrors in the house down and she had soaped up the mirror in the bathroom so you could not see into it. I remember scraping a smiley face in it, although I never told anyone, next time I went in someone had soaped it out. I dont have a black mirror although I have it on my do get list or actually to make list. I really don't think that it has died out, I just don't think that it gets talk about that much anymore. (When I go to the bathroom, I also get in there very fast and never look into or I will turn on the light.)
