"The Wood Wife" by Terri Winderling

Recommended Posts

I picked this up used for like a buck 50 on Amazon. I don't usually read fiction and expected it to sit on the shelf for ages. I read it in two days.

As the author has some connection to the 'Mists of Avolon" author I was very put off as I didn't like that series, but this book was totally different. The female characters had balls (something greatly lacking in MoA), the author's understanding of and descriptions of nature drew me in even though I have never been fond of the desert... actually made me want to go visit one, lol. Even the more "Indian" lore (again something I'm not into) was interesting and well presented and very believable. Had a bit of mystery, a bit of romance, and a lot of other-world. Very good read.

I have to correct this - it is "Windling" not "Winderling". I just re-read the book this week. Really, really good read.
