CelticGypsy
Anyone read this?Got a link from Pendraig Publishing on my facebook page - looks interesting and just wondered what others thought.. Thanks for the link Gramayr, I'll check it out, just from a slight quick look, the site offers some things I wouldn't be interested in, but Herbs and Scottish Lore is right up my alley. Mountain Witch
I have another of her books, "A Druid's Herbal", I think it's called. Not my cup of tea at all. However, I'd like to get this one and compare it with several other Scottish herbals I've got, as well as my 3-volume "British Calendar Customs - Scotland" for the history & lore. Like CG, most anything Scottish, especially if it involves herbs, is right up my alley.

I have a Druid's Herbal and it isn't my cup of tea either, but I have heard her books recommended often. British Calendar Customs sounds very interesting though. I have a book called The Scot's Herbal, by Tess Darwin. It reads like an encyclopedia of the plants of Scotland. Maybe you could do a comparison of this one too? :) Brea
Gramayr
What interested me in this book is that it mentioned Orkney, having visited there a few times and felt a connection (and if I got the chance would move there). I think it is more Scandinavian than British (has the biggest collection of runic inscriptions in one place in Maeshowe) so the lore may different to mainland UK. I've visited quite a bit of Western Scotland also.
