PDF Books on the Occult and Astrology

Not sure if anyone would be interested in this, but I purchased a CD from someone on E-bay which contained over 100 PDF files of out of print esoteric books. It really is a hodge podge of information, but would be very interesting for anyone interested in what people were writing about regarding the occult in the 1700s-1900s. There are some noteworthy authors within the CD though. So far, I am really enjoying what I am reading and it only cost me about $5.00 <which included shipping>

I don't know how long this person will be selling these <you know how e-bay sellers come and go>, and am not sure if I should post the link in here...but just a heads up if anyone might be interested. If you are, feel free to PM me here and I will give you the link. < to the Mods:...if it is o.k. for me to post the seller's link here, please let me know and I will.>

Regards.

Ruby,

I'd be willing to bet that the majority of the books on that CD are available on the web for free. I know on my computer & Kindle I've got in the neighborhood of 75 and I didn't pay a dime for any of them.

But for those that don't want to take the time to search, $5 isn't bad. I don't have a problem with you putting up the link.

I am sure you are 100% correct on that, Mountain Witch! So much available on the internet...it's such a great resource and...now that I think about it, the titles for this CD/DVD are on the advertisement on the link here...so if anyone felt like looking online for the PDF's listed instead...well, there you go..maybe they are available online too :)

...and here is the link for anyone who might be interested in the titles and/or the CD/DVDs;

Thanks Ruby for the link! It's good that it lists all of the books as it doesn't force you to buy the CD if you want to download the books.

I've found that some (maybe all?) of the books can be found here if you would prefer to download them instead of buying the CD.

Thanks, Nineheart! I saved the link you posted to my favorites!

Have a good night!

I've found that some (maybe all?) of the books can be found here if you would prefer to download them instead of buying the CD.

Also to find the books easier, only search for the main title otherwise you won't get any hits on their database.

Another tip is if you find you can't download the PDF (it redirects you to google books) go to "All Files: HTTP" and click on the link ("HTTP"). This will bring up the site's directory for the text / book and will allow you to download the PDF (just right-click: save as...).

I've found the first 10 books and about three of them required me to download directly from the site's directory, but at least you can still get them as PDFs. Also you can read each book online through a link in their website, so that's an alternative option (as well as download a Kindle version and have a plain text transcript ".txt").

  • 2 weeks later...

Nineheart <and anyone else who purchased the CD or downloaded any of the titles> ~

I was reading through "Brand's Popular Antiquities of Great Britain;Faiths and Folklore; a Dictionary of National Beliefs, Superstitions and Popular Customs; Past and Foreign Analogues, Described and Illustrated" <yes, that is one title..lol> last night and...just...wow..very interesting stuff.

I saw this one is available for download on the link you provided too, Nineheart. Don't miss this one while sifting through the downloads!

I also just saw on Amazon that someone in the UK just reproduced this book rather recently...interesting...

Thanks Ruby, I didn't download that one the first time. I managed to get all of the books listed on the CD as PDFs from that website apart from "Household Gods" (A script) by Aleister Crowley and "Complete Hypnotism - Mesmerism, Mind-Reading & Spiritualism, How to Hypnotize, Being an Exhaustive and Practical System of Method, Application, and Use" by A. Alpheus.

I'm not too bothered missing one or two books, as I have more than enough to read through ATM. Also I noticed that most of the books in the archive have more pages than the ones contained on the CD (from the listing description).
