West Country Witches

Has anyone read 'West Country Witches' by Michael Howard? It looks interesting, also geographically I have ancestors from that region (not that I can claim any of them were witches, convicts on the other hand.......), so I thought I would garner some opinions if anyone has read it?

I have not read the West Country but I have read his Welsh one and most of his other books. I find he delves a lot into history, which I like as it lends credibility and a touch of academia to his books and gives one a good idea of how certian beliefs have merged, changed, or stayed the same and some inkling of how some beliefs came into being or at least where they came from. I've enjoyed enough of Mr. Howard's books that I would buy one I hadn't read based on author credibility and reliability alone.

I can't even buy Pollingtons Leechcraft because its over £20.

Spinney, keep watching Amazon, Alibris and (oh damn, I forgot the name of the UK used bookseller I like). I kept watch for nearly 2 years when Pollington's book finally came up at a reasonable price - US$20.00. It was off Amazon, a private party & they either didn't know what they had (hard to do there, I'd think) or just wanted to get rid of it.
