RavenFlyer
This is a new show on HBO. It's based on te books A Song of Fire and Ice. For those that don't know what it is about I'll try to explain. There is one realm, 7 kingdoms, one king of the realm, and quite a few different Lords and Ladies residing over each kingdom. A lot of the story is about political power and trying to get close to the throne. However, there is also a plot line about an area known as the king's wall. The wall is in the north and is probably around 27 stories high. The King's Watch(a group f knights) guard the wall year round. And a race/species of beings they thought extinct are starting to show back up again. They are called the white walkers and they blend in with the snow and then attack ad kill. They have blue glowing eyes, and some of their victims come back from the dead to attack the living. The show is,IMO, amazing. The last episode of the season airs tonight. But if you have on demand you can watch the entire series on there.

Michele
Never seen it but I love that no matter how technological and devoid our worldbecomes, humans still find that deep-seated need to "believe" in fantasy life. Makes me wonder where the need comes from, lol.... M

Who is your favorite character/s? Mine are Arya, Dany/khalisee, rob, Renly, and khal drogo. I hated how the last episode ended. But I already knew that was coming. He was one of my favorite characters
CelticGypsy
I would have to agree with you. I saw an interview with the man who plays Drago ( Khal ). He speaks in a tone " higher" than me ! lol. And in the books, the Kalissie is only 13. HBO did a good job in casting don't you think ? I'm liking the Imp these days. Loved Ned too. and the bastard son. Aurelian
Did you read the books before watching the series? If so, did the screenwriters do a good job, or was it butchery? I loved the books, but I hadn't heard they were doing a production of it. But I wouldn't, I haven't turned on a TV in over a year and a half :)

I don't want to get ahead of the show...lol I want to be surprised. But I do know that George R. Martin (the author) has written a few of the episodes for the series. I would say they have done a really good job being faithful and bringing it to the screen

M there is the official trailer for the first season of Game of Thrones. Tonight is the season finale, so I would say the dvds probably won't be out until the earliest late summer, but more than likely around december they will be put out. But all that is just my speculation.

Wyrd
I tried to get into this one, even watched the entire season, but I'm not feeling the love, lol. Too much politics for my taste. Maybe the book was better!! Did anyone catch Camelot on Stars; http://www.starz.com/originals/camelot just loved the magical aspects of this series. :)

Maybe the book was better!! Did anyone catch Camelot on Stars; http://www.starz.com/originals/camelot just loved the magical aspects of this series. :) I enjoyed came lot as well. I haven't watched the last couple of episodes yet. but i do have to say I have never hated Arthur as much as I do in this retelling of it. The actor, 1. can't act and 2. doesn't look like Arthur at all (IMO). Its just hard for me to accept him as Arthur. However, Eva Green as Morgan and Joseph Fiennes as Merlin...amazing. Not to mention Joseph Fiennes is fine as hell. But I liked Camelot as a mindless entertainment series. It is what I watch when I want to be entertained and my brain to switch off for a little while. Game of thrones...it took me about 4 episodes to really like it. I was incredibly confused in the first couple trying to figure out who was who, and what allegiance that had. But once I got it all figured out I went back and watched the previous episodes wih super great interest.

Stacey
I saw an ad for this show but I don't have the channel it is on. I might get the dvd collection when it comes out because I do like this style of show. But of course the main reason is because I love Jason Momoa.......mmmmmmm. I hope it's done well. Sometimes novel to show/movie adaptations are a bit off, they don't usually work so well, but then, I've never read the books so it might be fine. seacow
Holy crap! Only one more episode left in the second season, excited as hell! I started reading the books after christmas, and I have to say I'm really happy that how faihtful they've been to them in the show. Second season not following the book as much as the first, but I must say I actually prefer what we see on tv to the book. The second book just felt kind of dry. Wish they would've given us more of the dragons, but I suppose making them cast a ton of money since they did such an incredible job at it, probably the CGI dragons/beings I've ever seen on a show/movie. Wish they would've also shown us a bit more magic, and not just those crazy ass warlocks, the demon-birthin-lady and Bran's dream stuff. Actually them not showing more of Bran and Daenerys are the only things I didn't like in the tv interpretation. You guys still watching? Has someone tuned in later on? thevioletsunflower
The second season is bothering me. It seems they are really dragging their asses on it. Like Jon and Ygritte (sp?) chasing each other around the wilderness seemed just like filler to me. And the Dany drama, but than again Dany's storyline is moving as slow as molasses and taking a billion twists and turns in the books, too. Also, I am bothered by the fact that they haven't introduced Bran's friends that help him find his destiny. Maybe later? I can't imagine Bran finding out what he needs to do any other way. I also wish there was more of Jaime and Brienne. Love their story! I understand that there is a lot of characters and storylines but they really could cut down on some things and put in others. I was thrown off that Sam and co are the ones that find the dragon glass but that makes sense, at least. I'm not a stickler for staying with the books because GRRM really drags ass on them (so much could have been resolved by now!) but I just feel like they are changing things in mostly the wrong places in the show and making it more complicated. I love the books enough to not want them to pull a True Blood and change everything. Of course, I prefer True Blood to the books they are based on but that's just because the books were fluffy fun and Ball really added some depth to them. Game of Thrones doesn't need that, IMO. I'm pretty sure instead of using the two characters they use in the books, they'll have the wildling woman, Osha, fill the roles of them both. A shame, but I'm pretty sure that's what'll happen. I feel like they maybe could've done some things differently, shown some sotires more than others, but I'm glad stuff at least has been happening. Just today when I saw the ninth episode, I actually thought TB myself and had a chill run down my spine in fear that that's what's going to happen to his show. I certainly hope not, and I do highly doubt it too. But I think TB didn't go down the shitter till the third season either though... But I don't want to jinx it! Do have to praise the acting on the shwo though, those people are fantastic! Alfie Allen makes me livid every time he appears on screen as Theon, and so does Jack Gleeson as Joffrey. Sophie Turner as Sansa makes me want to hold her tight and say everything will be fine and that she's the bravest little girl in the world. I also do have to say the SNL skit about Game Of Thrones was pretty accurate... It really does seems like there is a 13 year old boy behind the scenes adding to tits and ass to every scene possible :D
Michele
I haven't watched this yet but I read the boooks (all except book 6 becuase I'd given up by then, lol) and I know the author is not finished writig the books yet so I just can't see how they're gonna end the series???? thevioletsunflower
The acting is superb, I agree. I was just thinking today that Maise Williams needs to win like all the awards ever. LOL The scene where someone she loves is put to death (*wink wink nudge nude*), the look on her face... my god, the girl can act! Sophie Turner is doing an awesome Sansa and... well, I could continue to name names but really they all are just awesome! I do have an issue with Robb Stark's girlfriend. In the books she was nothing like that. Like nothing at all. Where are they going with this, I wonder? If Osha is going to replace Bran's friends then does that mean they won't separate soon? Hmmmm....
seacow
Maybe they want people to really feel for her, so that when the red wedding comes everyones sympathies will truly lie with her. Or I dunno. Jojen and Meera might still appear in the final episode, but I'm doubtful. I love Osha in the show though, so I'm not sure I would mind it that much. I would mind it, just not not much. The Old Crone
I loooove GOT!!!!I also have a cougar crush on Jon and Robb-most handsome young things! Mwahaha! Dany is on my dam last nerve though "where are my dragons, I want my dragons, bring me my children etc.." fuuuuck uuuup already! Sorry but her story line is slow as hell and she has gotten pretty annoying-IMO of course. I do like Arya and I think all of them in general are great actor/actresses. I wish HBO would have stretched it out though. They could have made it more than 10 episodes. Anyone know when season 3 will be ready? I have the books and will be reading them this summer waiting for it!
