Hi Michele

I was thinking about a sigil that blocks or banish part of one's powers and memories. What can you tell me about it?

oh and be careful if you go around poking in peoples heads with magic or science you can make them mad. I would use a glamor rather than a magical lobotomy.

The sigil you are looking for is a Lunar power sigil, Luna rules emotions, casts illusions and has to do with concealing memories and keeping secrets, you can also invoke the power of the river Lethe, the river of forgetfulness. If your looking for something exotic I would go here http://www.esoterica...m/gifs/gifs.htm but your basic waning moon symbol will work just as well.

Not if you are so good they don't notice its not their own idea.

"A Craft, a calling, a set of Keys to unlock a particular cosmology that is borne, and born, in the blood of the practitioner, and sets the Work to be done with which one may commune with those who hold the patterns and keys of the life of the practitioner and hir stream. The Work is to be done, and we are to do it." --Aiseling the Bard

Its a habit of mine to put a caveat with any information I give. I'm sure everyone here is experienced enough in the arts magical to do something simple as memory manipulation . Also sorry, Michele I don't realize Elvan was asking you specifically. I sight read, terrible habit.

I don't think you need to worry about answering questions, no one minds, especially if the request was a long time ago. We support the bringing back to life of old threads, as long as they aren't ones that harped on off-topic issues. And you don't usually need to make caveats here, because we tend to be more experienced here, but then again we do get seekers on here too, so a good middle ground is to say what you mean. I wasn't thinking of memory manipulation specifically, just subtlety in general when it comes to giving people good ideas they are so glad they thought of themselves!

That's not a "witch" tool. You'll have much better results doing searches online for "Magician's Wheel" http://www.rootwerx....ils/rose-cross/ is a good example.
Also you can use the Magician's Square, or the planetary squares (convert your letters to numbers via pythagorean numerology).

I just thought it was a nice adaption though for general spells, i use it in my practice, and have gotten some pretty good results:)

I think you misunderstood my post: The Wheel you're talking about is not "The Witches Wheel" - it is The Magician's Wheel. That is it's actual name, and origin. It's a great tool for what it does, but it is not a "witch tool" - it's a tool that can sure as hell be used by 'em, though.

Here's a version of the Wheel and Square.

I've been using them for as long as I can remember. Usually I draw or carve mine into stuff. Reading up on cultures that have used these markings is a good start, and wherever it leads - you are the authority on the intention of what you create and they carry the power you put in them. Sometimes I create my own and sometimes I borrow stuff - anything ranging from something I see in nature or dreams to runes to emblems and logos. Depends on what I'm doing. Same with keeping vs. destroying. If I want to be done with the working and instigate subsequent change moving forward I'll destroy the sigil and move on. If I am trying to hang onto something I'll keep the sigil close and either store it or make it part of my environment. Lately I've been mapping out constellations that keep reappearing over my house and making my own images from them.
"We sailed through endless skies. Stars shine like eyes. The black night sighs."

Sorry for the misunderstanding, but i'm a bit of a newbie at traditional witchcraft, but just out of curiosity, i was wondering what constitutes as a "witch tool" in your opinion? For me personally, I just thought it would depend on the practitioner, if I used a tool within my practice, and i am a practicing witch, then it would be a witch tool to me, but that is just my personal definition.

What is your opinion onthe subject matter?

TRLTB, the search button is your friend! We have discussed tools and their use or non-use quite a bit.

For purposes of action nothing is more useful than narrowness of thought combined with energy of will.

I spent some time trying to figure out what a TRLTB was, lol. The girl does have her moments...
