Footprints

Footprints have been know to hold the essence of a person and have been used in Magical Workings. The dirt taken from one's footprint may be used for obtaining then holding power over the person who made them, much like other parts of the body as urine, hair etc. In Hoodoo, I'm aware that putting dirt from a fooprint into a Mojo pouch will "encourage" the target to follow the practioner. They are also used in the Fae Traditions, and in houses known to be haunted by demonic activity, some place ashes on the floors of the house, looking for footprints to show up left in the ashes to show what type of entity is present.

Has anyone worked with footprint dirt in their magical workings and if so, did u use other items such as glass or nails to impair the target in anyway?

i know my gran told me they used for banishing to, thats why you throw it down river not up because the flow will float the mud back to you, so u throw it into the current so it gets swept away from you.

I had the opportunity to work some magic on a set of footprints today and thought to bump this post for additional discussion, as it seems to have died on the vine, so to speak. I recall several posts along the same line, so please feel free to link to those, too.

I don't really have anything to add here concerning human footprints and spell work, but I have heard that if a person wishes to gain the abilities of a certain animal (or to create a spiritual connection with the creature) then the person should drink rain water out of the animal's pawprint.

Personally, I've never felt the need to do this so I can't say how effective it is...

Little fun fact though, drinking from a wolf's print was supposedly one of the ways to become a werewolf. Just thought I'd toss this in here for those who are interested in such tales. :puppykiss:

As a believer of etymology and animism in my Path, I don't find this far fetched at all. :)
