My clever cat

Oceana

Recommended Posts

My beautiful black cat Shadow has this habit of jumping on my lap for cuddles when she thinks I've been working for too long at the PC and need a break.

Well.

This time she took it a little further (I guess she figured TLC wasn't enough to get my attention)...

...and quite decisively went and pressed on the PC power button with her paw.

Then she looked at me

and buggered off.

Praise the gods for autosave and data recovery

...and curse the clever cat!

That's hilarious, Oceana! It reminds me of the cat I had growing up. She loved to sit in my Dad's lap when he got home from work (probably because he was a meat cutter). He would try to read the newspaper and she would keep pushing it down with her paw until he gave up and gave her some lovin'. They are amazing and sometimes infuriating creatures.

Cat's have a way of making their feelings known, one way or another! :naughty:

Back in the days before auto-save, one of my cats used to interrupt me if, in his opinion, I'd been working too long. One time he didn't just jump in my lap - he jumped onto the table & walked across the keyboard, somehow managing to reboot the computer. I lost 3 hours of data entry. Learned my lesson immediately and started saving my work every 15-20 minutes. Good thing. He did the same thing a couple of days later.

Now with the laptop, one of our boys snuggles with his front paws on my arm when it's time to take a break. Since he weighs close to 30 pounds, I have to quit as he drags my arm away from the keyboard doing that!

Love 'em, could kill 'em at times.

Teehee, aren't they great! And the worst part is you can't even get mad at them cos they look back at you with such an innocent face. "I'm only trying to help, mummy."
