Many people will have seen the following article about the interesting Norfolk witch and painter Monica English:
http://www.the-cauld...nglishwitch.htm
Some will have seen the following French language site:
http://lawica.free.fr/people/14.htm
Bill the Exile has dug up some previously unanvailable information about her, currently published at the archived "pickingill" email list:
http://groups.yahoo....oup/pickingill/
See especially messages 340 to (currently) 355.
Eventually, no doubt, Bill will polish this and put it on his own site, but some here may be interested to see the breaking news.

Thank you for sharing this interesting info and piece of history. I enjoyed it, and love the ending quote "“Silence is the ultimate and final initiation. The Gods are silent; everything comes out of silence. The true experience of bliss is without words.”....

Not quite yet polished, perhaps, but in time for Hallowe'en, here is Bill the Exile's Monica English page.

Lois writes quite a lot more than this in this article in her books.
Has Bill (whoever he is) ever contacted Lois directly? If anyone has anything to say about Monica it's Lois.

Greetings Copperhedge and all,
Just a quick note for today.
Bill the Exile is known to me and asked me to say that he has ordered the book and will be attempting to get in contact with Lois directly. Hopefully this will assist his work and may even clarify some spots of what many modern views seem to miss in terms of history and so on ...
He had applied here but thinks it may have lapsed so will be hoping to get back to his application soon. With a bit of luck teh next thing on this he will be able to handle himself.
Fraternally
Scott
