Hi all, I have always used herbal pouches as a way of protection for my home. I hang them at all entrances to ward off all nasties.

I am moving and I would like a more descrete way of protection as people keep saying "what is that bag for?"

Any suggestions?

I take the same pouches and bury them at the four corners of the property. My aunts also urinate on the spot, once the ward is buried, but that is entirely optional. (I don't want to get you arrested.) I have also concealed the ward in a hanging pot or planter or within a decorative door hanging or attached to the back of a "Welcome" sign.

I shall be in a apartment so burying will not be an option so concealing them would be my other option. What is the contents of your pouches?

I use to hang bells on the doors going in/out. I need to get some more as they have broke, but its suppose to scare away evil spirits. They themselves cannot open the door, but they can sneak in when someone goes or leaves. The bells scare them off. (well, thats how ive always been told anyways)

I would tell people its so I would know if a little one was trying to get out the door. If you dont have little ones you could tell them that its to let you know if someone tries to come in w/out you knowing.

They dont have to be big loud bells. I had some small ones that make a small jingling sound.

Whatever the regulations and the rules of your apartment complex has to offer, I have done this in the many hotels I've had to stay over night in, in my flying. I take my protection pouch, and with a tack I " Tack " it to the backside/inside of the door... as the outside of the door in the hotel room has my " Do not Disturb Sign ". Simple Simple. At home one can hang their pouches or charms on the mantles of their respected doors. The intent is the key to keeping woosie boogers, and nastie asties out.

Regards,
Gypsy

This is so great, I'm a complete paranoid freak-out about my home, I smudge my house occasionally when I get the feeling there's too many bad spirits lingering. After I figure out what to put in the pouches, I think I'm going to try and put one in each window as well. Whoot :witchnana:

As to keeping them discreet, most of my friends wouldn't flinch if i said, they're for keeping out bad spirits, but I'd just say they're air freshners, but the ones I'm thinking of putting in the window sills I'm going to put in little clay pots that one day when my kids grow up and move out, I'll have time to paint as well.

How about instead of using typical shaped pouches that you hang or keep things in, make yourself some long flat thin ones. These you can fill with your usual mix of protectives, and place/pin them flat along the tops of the door lintels where they will not be seen. :vhappywitch:

4 parts Verbena or Vetivert
1 part Galangal
1 part Peppermint
few drops Rhue
1 part Cinnamon

Used to protect against any hexes, negative vibration or foul mood which may overcome you, intruders, etc. Just a good general protection remedy. Sprinkle powder liberally in your home and burn as incense. To make the powder, Grind all ingredients in a coffee grinder so they are very fine. Mix all ingredients with baby powder (innocence), or talcum powder.

To make the incense, Grind all ingredients as stated above but do not add to powder. Just burn over a charcoal disk as you would any other powder incense. You can also make cones by adding honey to the contents until they can be rolled together. Be very scarce as you add the honey.

In bath form, Add whole ingredients to the bath water. It is excellent as an uncrossing, helps you to maintain immunity to a recurrence of the hexed state, or an unprotected state.

Or, Boil the ingredients, pour them in a clear glass jar, and then let soak in the sun for 3 days. Strain the contents and use the water by asperging (flinging the water) around the home liberally. This can be done as much as you feel necessary and as often as needed.

You can get many of the ingredients online if needed.
