Salzburger Nockerln

This is one of my favorite desserts. It's a specialty from Austria(Salzburg)




The recipe:


- 10 egg white

- 6 tablespoon full of sugar

- 6 yolk

- 6 tablespoon full of meal to fold in


So here it goes:


Whisk stiff the egg white with a pinch of salt, add the sugar bit by bit and make creamy beaten egg whites.

Fold in carefully the yolk and the sieved meal.

Form the bulk in a casserole(which has to be buttered and belaid with cranberries and raspberries) into 3 or 4 great dumplings.

Then bake it for 12 minutes (200 degree).

Besprinkle with powdered sugar - enjoy;).

Wow, this looks GORGEOUS...and so simple...I'm going to try it. I'll let you know how it comes out. For the meal, would it be all right to add almond meal? Or should it be corn meal or something else?

I would do it with wheat flour(it must be "glatt"-> I think it's called farina here?or clean?)
