Just wanna raise a toast to this fine tv series that was aired in the early 1980s..I was like 6 at the time! just remember them being so freaky..

And just wondered if anyone here remembers watching them..

I bought the collection yesterday on DVD and have had a bit of fest last night lol..

The episodes are:

Witching Time

The Thirteenth Reunion

Rude Awakening

Growing Pains

The House That Bled to Death

Charlie Boy

The Silent Scream

Children of The Full Moon

Carpathian Eagle

Guardian of The Abyss

Visitor from The Grave

The Two Faces of Evil

The Mark of Satan

If you havent seen them before, your in for a treat.. although the stories can be a bit disjointed, and some of it laughable they have a unique dark atmosphere that is all the more enhanced with age..

And also came across this website, for those interested:

I have always been an enormous fan of Hammer horror!

Children of the full moon is my favorite, Diana Dors was a fabulous actress. The two faces of evil is also really good

Thanks for posting the website link with that famous haunting music too.

I LOVE Hammer House of HOrror! They're so cheesy, 70's and yet SO great!

I think the films are cheezy but that the series is pretty spine chilling!

I remember one... from being a kid.. where this woman was sitting astride a man in bed.. and she suddenly cut his heart out. It was terrifying to me (as a 10 year old or whatever age I was!LOL)..... amazing how things stick in your head. LOL

Oh Crank away Oaky.. it's going right over my head today :tongue0013: Mmmm now let me see... I do remember the House that Bled to death... and lots of smatterings of different scenes.. from various films.

More than anything tho.. I remember clearly begging my Nan that I could watch them before my mum came home from her night job.. and I'd sit, huddled on an armchair with a blanket and the dog, absolutely pooping my pants whilst my Nan tut-tutted, eating boiled sweets and knitting very fast! LOL.. she would say "If you have nightmares and tell your mother, I'll crown you" (meaning whack me on the head).

It's just the whole thing for me.. it evokes so many odd, childhood memories..similar to when I hear the music for Tales of the Unexpected..

LOL which DOES NOT really answer your question about which was my favourite does it??? OK.. so beat me with your Hammer Box set on the noggin, for my rubbishness :biggrin2:(which, I will add, I bought for a friend's birthday - I wish I'd kept it!)
