LDG
So i am a real fan of books. I generally buy books i look through at the store but this one i bought right away, i needed a bigger book on mythical creatures on a larger variety. Has anyone checked out this book before? If so did you like it or find it not useful? So far its been an interesting read, some of the subjects dont seem to have a lot of written detail but im sure i can rely on the good ole internet if i need to research something. Also there is the encyclopedia of witchcraft by Judika Illes. I have the 5,000 spell book which is fantastic im wondering if anyone has this one and can tell me if its good to have for reference as well. The Element Encyclopedia of Magical Creatures: The Ultimate A-Z of Fantastic Beings From Myth and Magic (Paperback) by John Matthews (Author), Caitlin Matthews (Author) ISBN-10: 140273543X ISBN-13: 978-1402735431
Nyxiah
I have the encyclopeia of witchcraft and the 5000 spells one as well as the magical creatures one - I find them all to be useful and a great source of info that i didn't know before. I found it had some really great myths and legends about loads of creatures and i haven't been let down by any of the books in this series yet, i have a few more that i want to collect. So i would recommend it but that's just MO, you'd have to see for yourself :D but if you like the 5000 spells i think you'll like the others

LDG
I found some good references to other books, and think i will end up on a splurge later this month. Also i was looking up konstantinos, i have his gothic grimoire and nocturnal witchcraft as i find most of my working needs mainly the dark of night to draw from. I found him to be somewhat alright, there are quiet a bit of practices in his small books but im venturing more out of my shell now and have been researching sentries and fetchs, i happened across a book of while researching him called: Creating Magickal Entities: A Complete Guide to Entity Creation by David Michael Cunningham, Taylor Ellwood, and T. Amanda R. Wagener Anyone have this one too? Im super questiony lately as im in school and that tends to send me on a researching frenzy.d Ty MW btw, i tried searching last night but it was rather late so i must have dozed off before looking lol. I need to stop burning the candle at both ends!
Ancestral Celt
One of my reviews below: I cannot rave about this book enough. It is a truly wonderful compilation of magical creatures from around the world - including the Queensland Tiger!!! There is a general introduction to each creature and some considerable cross-referencing has been done. My favourites are included: Black Shuck Pooka Brownies Landvaettir there were only a very few missing that I could see, but maybe they are under a different name and I have yet to find them - it is a BIG book after all. What is interesting is to see creatures from the various movies and television shows such as Buffy, Robin of Sherwood, Lord of the Rings - so there are entries for Orcs, gremlins (which apparently only appeared after WWI) and such like. This is a book to help identify anything that may be lurking in your area. Truly a wonderful book.
Ancestral Celt
Also i was looking up konstantinos, i have his gothic grimoire and nocturnal witchcraft as i find most of my working needs mainly the dark of night to draw from. Can I just say: a lot of witches work at night, its why the moon often features so prominently. Certainly, I work mostly at night. Any magic done during the day, can also be done at night, so I have never seen a need for books about night magic myself. But then, I have always worked on the assumption that witchcraft is worked during the witching hour. :lol_witch:
