Anna Riva

Just wanted opinions on her series of books. I once visited a card reader who had a book of hers..can't remember the name but I ended up copying the colour meanings and I was impressed that it was for good and evil. I remember it being a little xianized though. There were saints in the book; then again it could have been for vodoun use.

I ask because I'm thinking about ordering some and I don't want to be wasting time and money in getting them only to regret the purchase later..

Any thoughts?

J :)

Hmmm You've piqued my interest as well. Looking at her library of voodoo and hoodoo, yes probably some catholic influences....but don't turn away from knowledge. Even if you don't agree with what you read, you come out smarter in the end. I have alot of books I consider rubbish...but I am better for having read them.

I have a few of her booklets around the house somewhere-nothing indepth, but ok. I do recall though that they were pretty inexpensive. I got them many years ago at a botanica in Queens. Though I had read somewhere that the name Anna Riva is just a front for another company.

I have one of her books somewhere, think it may be the one your talking about Jaime... candle magic for good and evil.. using the psalms, novenas, saints intercesion, affirmations, etc.. Raymond Buckland wrote a very similar book, almost identical... hmmm
