meg
I was about to ask about Marian Green as i just picked up 2 of her books on spells cheaply. Good to know she is fairly well reviewed in other threads. Has anyone looked at her spell books? The books are certainly illustrated nicely and the spells are less hocus pocus than i have seen elsewhere and are fairly simple. Easy to see the reason behind objects, etc that are used. What are others views on spell books? I take them as a place to start, i can use ideas from them and adjust to what i feel is right. Sentiments and words are more personal i feel, so it wouldn't feel right for me to copy word for word anyway.
Michele
Haven't seen any of her spell books, but I believe she was the author of "A Witch Alone" which I very much enjoyed (assuming she was the author... lol).

It sounds as though our views on spell books are similar. I use them for reference only and couldn't imagine reciting a spell word for word. Ancestral Celt
I only have the one spell book (it has around 5,000 in it ;) ) - it does for any inspiration I might need.
spinney
JUST NEED TO PUT SOMETHING IN HERE.:D You have MARION Green and MARIAN Green and even amazon can't get it right. Marion does spell books and Marian does the witch alone books and spell books. I used to have marion greens book 'practical magic' but I don't know where it is, but i remember it being quite simple. She also has a book out called 'white magic' which because of the title I did not give a second glance.Im not sure which Mrs Green you are on about I find them a little to 'white'(if thats the word i'm looking for) for my own personal taste, but admit I have not seen the Marian Greene spell books. Hope this all makes sense;)

Guest ThePopeVI
Marian Green wrote "Practical Magic" a book of transformations spells and mind magic. It has good pictures and has things that just about anyone can use. And it seems to *ME* that it is a good into type book covers things that can be used on many paths (does have some mentions of Wicca, but also has Ceremonial things mentioned as well. I was drawn to the practicallity of it and the pictures are GREAT IMO. Its a book I pick up just to look at and I seem to gain something new everytime even if it is very basic.
