Bedknobs and Broomsticks

For those of you who haven't seen it, its an early 70's disney movie based in England in world war 2. I watched it as a kid but now through more knowledgeable eyes i got an even greater kick out of it. Basically its about a new witch who was learning to be a witch through correspondence school and wants to use her gift to help the war effort. comical and cute. Gotta love Angela Lansbury as the lead role.

Anyone else seen it? Wish to comment? :ani_witch_moon:

Wow, I haven't thought of this one in ages! I may have to acquire this just to look at it through adult eyes.

Thanks for the reminder! :lol_witch:

I remember this one! My mom actually had us watch it, its probably why this 80's kid loves earlier programmes and movies. This movie is and always be a classic. I will have to watch again its been ages, but i think its a must see for anyone. Kinda reminds me once in a while to show my nephew whos 3 classic movies from the last century. I enjoy watching from the 1940's on so ive started once in a while to show him them as well so hopefully when he gets older he will appreciate them as well.

Haha Yes I am a fan of Bedknobs and broomsticks. Mind you the possessed knights etc used to freak me out a bit when i was wee. I haven't seen it in ages though I think I'll be watching it again today now you've reminded me.

I love this film... or as my kids used to call it "bedknobs and breadsticks"!!!! I used to find them sitting on the end of my bed, turning the brass knob around and pretending to fly around the room... LONG LIVE films like this which stimulate kids imaginations!

BTW (if anyone ever suffered 'Murder she wrote' with The Lansbury).. isn't it a relief that no one pops their clogs mysteriously in B&B's! :scared::D
