Most haunted in Denbigh UK

So the story is that the mosy haunted team,( I have never watched it but they always do something spectaualr around Halloween.)

are going to Denbigh in Wales to an old victorian asylum (spooky) and they are also going to use an invocation to raise the spirits of the witches murdered there who have put a curse on Denbigh.

what do you think?

I'm on the fence about Most Haunted, I think they fake some of the findings to get ratings, but I find it entertaining none-the-less.

 

Did anyone ever see the live episode a few years ago when they investigated Pendel Hill where the Pendle Witches are said to haunt the buildings and landscape in and around the area? I think you can see some of the footage on YouTube.

I believe a lot of what they do is staged. But yes, it is entertaining and I love to find out the history of the places they go to. Too bad we in the states may not see it.

Yea I dont like that show...They were proven to be fake...I prefer Ghost Hunters with TAPS on SciFi...They look to disprove hauntings so when they find stuff you know its not fake.

nooooo, most haunted is superb, a superb example of care in the community...The gentleman with the shiny earring who shall remain nameless cause I hear he likes to sue was really the worst actor I think I have ever seen , for example using slang terms when it's supposedly ancient spirits speaking and the episode where he kept shouting something along the lines of 'Rosie loves Dick' in a high pitched voice...

As for the dame herself , has anyone noticed how she's supposedly got more psychic as the shows gone on...and more screamy !! I've spotted a couple of very strange historical anomalies in there before as well.

The setting seems a tad stereotypical or possibly scooby doo 'Hey guys, lets spend halloween in an old asylum, maybe Scooby will catch the monsters?'

I can even guess the invocation ...

 

'We come before you to speak to the spirits from the other side, the poor women who were cruelly murdered here, we mean you no harm so come forth and speak to us .....one knock if you want the pink tupperware, two if you want the blue...'

 

I think I'm having a psychic moment, yes my spirit guide is speaking to me.

I watch Most Haunted, but prefer to watch Ghost Hunters( T.A.P.S).

I am glad they got rid of the shiney ear-ring guy who talks to " sam". I stopped watching for a while because of him. I do like David, who they brought in to replace Shiney ear-ring guy.

 

As for the make-up artist, turned psychic, I want to reach through the tv and throttle her sometimes. She is the biggest wimp.

 

I dont mind the hostess ( lead lady) but her drama is a bit much sometimes with all the screaming.

 

Yes, I get that they are British, but does every second word out of thier mouths when "scared" have to be a bleep? I think my English relatives would be offended by the misrepresentation of thier language.

 

I like T.A.P.S more because of thier methods. Even the International team is good. I have to say I am looking forward to thier live show on Halloween.

I hate to tell you this banshe but thats about the only thing about most haunted that's bordering on realistic, you'd be appalled at the way I talk {I admit, I'm worse than many because of my job} I can remember a very nice girl from Boston who I went to uni with getting cross with me one night and calling me a walking obscenity factory :twisted_witch:

The worst thing about shiny earring guy is that he's gone on to do other programs {I nearly widdled myself watching him in the pyramids! I was praying for a horror film mummy because that would have actually made it seem more belivable}

I have also just found out that one of my collegues is paying good money to go and see him live, I may have to have serious words with her.

Has anyone seen paranormal state? That one's quite worrying really because I often get the impression that the lead guy is only a few steps away from whipping out his malleus malificarum and his handy portable exorcisim set {Acme of course!}

I will definately have to check them out next week. I have a bloody headache this week and the light from the night vision cameras makes it worse. I got 2 minutes into the show, and WHAM my headache got worse... *sad face* Oh well. Good thing it's a series and not a one time showing of a movie.

I caught an episode the other day and found it entertaining at the least. I'm still forming my opinion on the show, too.

 

I do get the overwhelming impression the hosts were all in a frat together back in college and spent one too many drunken nights daring each other to go into the spooky house... and eventually started taking it seriously.

I watched most haunted Saturday night. But it was not the one you mentioned in here. It was a repeat of that huge place with underground tunnels and rooms. Their was a woman who was the medium for them. Is she the makeup artist you all say is suddenly the medium??

I haven't seen the episode of Most Haunted in Denbigh yet because believe it or not I can't get satellite tv in my house!Anyway I know the place they are "investigating" and have been inside it. It is an old building that became the local Psychiatric Hospital for the area, it certainly does have an atmosphere..I couldn't wait to get out of the place, it has such a sad feel to it and I am not surprised when you think of all the people who were wrongly locked up in there.I have an elderly friend whose Mother was cast away in there for years after having a baby for being "mad" but was suffering from what we would now describe as post natal depression.As you will know all sorts of unfortunate people, including unmarried Mothers were also placed in such institutions too.

I must say,having lived near that area that I had never heard of any witches curse,will have to look into that,maybe they knew my ex was going to be living there!

Hey, I have met shiny earring Man!!Me and the boys were in Liverpool a few months ago and there were all these people outside a shop, turned out Derek was doing a book signing! My Son Jake wanted to go and have a look at him cos we do these hysterical impressions of him, we got to see him briefly, but there is no way I would have wasted my money on his book.
