AnjelWolf
I saw the Illusionist the other night and fell in love with it immediately!!! The acting was beyond anything I imagined and the plot captured me in the beginning and held me in my seat till the end. It is about a young man who is a magician (illusionist). Anyhow he fell in love with a duchess as they were young...because of her upbringing they weren't allowed to be together and went separate ways. During a show he was putting on some 15 years later she was a volunteer from the audience...without giving away anything else...trust me when I say this IS NOT your typical love story (I do not favor them anyhow). This story combines the favorite "who done it" elements with a "love story" element...a must see. :) :) :) :) :) :)
Charline
Seen it and loved it, I have to say it is alot better than The Prestige dont know why that one was ok but the Illusionist was just better.

Guest Landieth
I just watched this movie and loved it!!! :D Although.. I'm kinda confused about the ending, but even still it's good! A must see!
Grymdycche
Being a (very) part time amateur magician, I had to buy the DVD when it came out. (Actually I haven't done that kind of magic in a long time). The Prestige is actually fairly different, though it has similarities. It's a story of two rival magicians from about the same era, the first one does an amazing teleportation effect that the other cannot figure out.. The other tends to copy the first magician a lot (and they both vie for the same girl as well) , but then eventually, with the help of none other than Nikoli Tesla, the other magician eventually finds a way to better the first magician at his "own" trademark effect -but at a tremendous cost, which I won't reveal. That's the first surprise/twist, and it's good. Then you discover the twist as to how the first magician did it.. over all, it was pretty good, lots of twists - the love interest aspect took a back seat to the magicians' magical rivalry, IMO. sophiadawn
I really liked The Illusionist. I also really liked the Prestige. When they first came out, based on previews, I thought they would be similar but I found them to be quite different story lines. Enjoyed them both more than once.
