I picked this book up from the store last night. Been reading on it, flipping through it.. I find it very informative. I've gotten into capturing orbs and such.. this book has loads of information, giving theories and different explinations, pictures of different paranormal phonomena.. it even delves a bit into thought-forms and such. It's pretty cool.

Here's what the back cover says --

Have inexplicable spheres and fogs ever ruined any of your photographs? If you discarded them, thinking dirt on the lens or camera glitches were to blame, you may want to retrieve them and reconsider. These spheres and fogs may be paranormal light forms. Light forms are mentioned in literature on angels, aliens, UFOs, ghosts, crop circles, near-death experiences, inter-dimensional beings, magick, and thought-forms. Hypnotized subjects describe the lights as the forms we become between lives on Earth. This entertaining book examines the many theories about what these energies may be and presents evidence throughout history that confirms their existence. Starting out as a novice photographer, the author captured the apparent spirit of her sister's dog. That began her great adventure into researching orbs, vortexes, and ectoplasms that are appearing in pictures worldwide. In this book, you will learn as she did how, when, and where to photograph and interact with these intelligent life forms. How to Photograph the Paranormal has something for everyone-from the simply curious to ghost hunters and paranormal researchers. The book features dozens of origninal paranormal photographs-many in full color. Mysterious lights evidently have been with us all along but they are now making extra efforts to reveal themselves to humanity. This book is an eye-opening glimpse into their world.

I've only had this book a short while, and have found bunches of interesting points and views on the subject. Pictures are great too!! You might want to look this up if you're into this sort of thing.

I have. :) But the books got more than just capturing orbs in it.

OH! I got some new pics of the backyard, thanks to Mario's help. (He's got gifts of his own) I'll try to post them in the thread I started in the private forum.. I'll probably have to wait until I figure out what the hell's wrong with that computer though.

Thought I'd get a book on the subject though.

It looks interesting but not my thing.... I've been taking photos for years and years and to be honest I have only once seen something that made me wonder but it wasn't an orb! They just don't do it for me, lol. I can go to places and 'feel stuff' but I never see anything visible....maybe someday

I won't :deadhorse: my feelings on common orbs, 'cept to say the mainstream is discrediting them nowadays, but theres' still lots of other phenomenon that can be captured, like inexplicable mists and so forth. (Any decent ghost hunting team is forbidden from smoking during an investigation ;)). O' course, orbs that give off their own light source rather than reflect it, and seem to move of their own accord, rare as those are, are also still considered valid. Unless it's a firefly, lol!

Anyone a member over at the TAPS forums or the paranormal resource center forums? I go by the moniker "Orion" over there, but I haven't posted anything in at least 6 months on either forum, I just fell out of it for a bit. I know I'll be back though, I just need to catch wind of a good haunted house in my area or something to relight my fire.

I came within inches of joining SJGR (sjgr.org) last year, but missed my final interview due to a weekend crisis at work which kept me there all day (a Saturday) -talk about F'd up timing, stupid server.

SJGR asks on their applicant forms if you're Wiccan, and how you feel about using an ouija board during investigations. The "correct" answer to that last question is, of course, to say you'd never use an ouija board during investigations and that you'll leave any magical spirit contacting out of it. Which isn't entirely fair, really, since they use psychics - and sometimes some teams even Christian paraphernalia, like crosses, if they feel a place is evil. Ghost hunting should be religion neutral, IMO, because you don't know what religion the ghosts were when they were living people.
