Fairies

Ok so I'm starting to have these strange things happen around my house and they are now coming more frequently. My son's toys will go off at random times (no one near them and nothing on top of them that would cause them to go off) and it's never the same toy so I can't say it's just one that's getting glitchy. Now I'm seeing little faces everywhere, usually blended in with something. At first, I thought maybe it was my over active imagination. (You know how you can look at something and it'll remind you of something and so that's what you'll see, but at the same time you can change the look of it at any time, does this make any sense? Like looking at clouds.) But I can't make these little faces change and they don't go away, the most recent thing being last night I was out on my porch smoking a cig with my hubby and I could see a face pressed up against the glass to the kitchen, crap this is hard to explain in writing, it looked almost like when someone blows on glass and makes it foggy, but it was a face, it never changed and when we came back out to smoke later it was gone, I could see the spot where it was and it looked like something had been pressed up against it recently but no more face just the, not the outline, but crap!!! lol You know how you put your hand on glass and the heat imprint will stay for a bit after you remove your hand and then gradually fade away? That's what it did. This recent one is the most blatent that I've seen so far. My question is this, are the fae trying to contact me? I'm so damn newb stupid with this stuff I don't think I could see the forest for the trees on this one. The experiences don't scare me and I think my baby can actually see them. There's also one that I think keeps waking the baby up during the night and pissing him off (he doesn't like being woken up lol), but then when he does get more awake I'll hear him in there playing with someone, I truly don't believe it's a spirit. I've been in places with spirits and this has a definately different feel to it, they also don't bother the dog, but he'll start chasing 'something' around the house in a playful way. Also for the record I don't know if this means anything but I'm going to tell it anyway, sometimes the most seemingly insignificant thing turns out to be the reason why lol. I have lavender pinned over every entrance in my house, I don't know why I did it, only that it felt right when I did it. Any ideas? Now I have gone around the forums and bookmarked the links that ya'll have put up about the fae, but I haven't read them yet. I just did this this morning and I have to be at work in 45 mins lol, but I'm going to read them once I get home, I just wanted to share this with ya'll and see what ya'll thought.

Well, Some fae like babies. as long as they are keeping him entertained and not yelling his head off, it may be a good thing. Try leaving them a sweet or a little shiny charm where they can find it, to let them know they are welcome to play with and guard your baby any time. One never knows about these things.

A bit of candy or cake would do nicely. As long as you present it nicely. A tiny bit is all it takes. Then be sure to clean any leftovers up in the morning. Just verbalize that you thank them for taking care of and amusing your baby. Welcome the good fairies and angels in to your home. Keep an eye on the elves who might accompany them. They are mischevious and move things about.

Ethira,

It sounds like it could be faeries. I caught a fae and some type of tree imp on my digital camera. I posted them on the Share Your Art, in the I Want To Share Too , thread on the second page.

Funny how you mentioned that your son's toys go off without any seeming provocation. When I was a little girl, this would happen to me all the time. I just assumed ghosts were the culprit, but now I'm wondering......

Be thankful that whatever it is, is nice to your child and makes him laugh. My oldest child had horrible , scary experiances with something that showed up right after her birth. It would make her scream. She would scream out and as I got to the room I could see her staring at it in the corner of her room. Sometimes it would trick her. She would see it, smile and laugh at it, then terror came accross her face. It ended up upsetting the entire household and occasional visitors too. Toys would go off, monitors would turn themselves off and on. It would play tricks on me too. I am not sure if it showed up cause she was born, or if her birth made it more active. But it was horrible. We were finally rid of it by the time she was 3 years old. I am sure it was not any of the fae. So if you have fae, be glad and treat them well.

Lol, I've seen face imprints on my windows in the sunroom. At first I thought my siamese put her face up against the window, cause she was looking at it. Chika, the siamese, and her son Pagan, my black cat play with things. Sometimes I catch glimpses of them.

And sometimes they pull the covers off of me and wake me up when I sleep in the sunroom, usually followed by Chika rawring like a lion.. or doing this call similar to what Xena the Warrior Princess does. Then off she goes leaping at something.

I think you're right about the sweets thing... Mario's always complaining about his candy missing from the bar. I dont take it, I don't like candy, and my parents usually aren't home when this happens.

We always leave out a little dish of cream flavoured with lavender and sweetened with honey. {Just infuse the cream with lavender , same as you would if you were making a vanilla custard, it also makes a very nice cake base :naughty:}

The other thing I was told is that if you have any gargoyles or anything , put a bit of gold around their necks . Apparently it helps keep them sweet!

That sounds absolutely delicious! I'm going to have to do that, I have fresh lavender in my garden, still haven't figured out how to dry them properly though, going to have to do some research on that subject. Oh and another question while I'm thinking about it, any ideas on how to stop them from waking the baby up? While I appreciate that he has a buddy, it's very frustrating for me to get woken up for a few hours 4 or 5 times a week. I can't sleep when I can hear the baby and I've just been dealing with it, but I can't go too much longer with this little amount of sleep I'm getting, it's not healthy for me lol.

When I plant I always let the fae know that what mine is thiers and to please help themselves. I will put out milk or honey in a shot glass in the evening and take it back in in morning. I have also put out little pads of butter that they like. When I start harvesting my vegies and herbs, I will leave some on the vines for them also.

Whenver I'm outside I will talk to them. The over nite I was outside on my cell phone while looking at the moon, no matter where I walked, I could feel them around me. Have you ever walked thru a spider thread but couldn't see it? I was told that that was a fairy wing brushing up against you. Well, thats what was going on while I was outside. I actually told my friend to hand on while I asked the fae to settle down until I got off the phone and play with them. Diane is a sister witch, and she was laughing at me talking to my fae. When we were done chating, I turned on some celtic music and danced a little with the fae.

I personnaly love the fae in my yard. They are amusing and they will show themsevles. I have a small resin fairy in my flower garden and they will put flowers in her hands while I'm looking. Maybe its because I've always talked to them that I have all the friendly, funloving ones. I've never dealt with a mean one.

Just remember to talk with them, thank them for thier protection and they will great gifts.

Perhaps, when you are putting out your treats, you could just ask them. Tell them that you love having them there, you just think they should amuse the baby when he is already awake. That babies need their sleep, and he would be much more receptive to playing if they didn't wake him up. Leave an extra little sweet with that request, and tell them you only mean the best for your baby and their good works.

My grandmother on my dad's side used to talk about the wee people of the old country and putting milk out for them.

When I was a child on the east coast of U.S. I used to see fairies in the woods often.

Now I live in a remote part of Oregon and I have been experiancing fairies in a certain places in the mountains. But these little folks look different then the ones I saw in the east. And they act and look different then the ones my grandmother spoke of in Ireland. I also found out from experiance with them that these little guys here do not want milk! They are pretty adimant about it too. They do like candy, especially M&M's, though.

Many Indian tribes in the Pacific Northwest talk about tribes of little people. And many tribes of Indians in the east also have stories of these wee folk, the stories have the little people with different characteristics etc.

I think there are different tribes of these little folks. So I would suggest that you talk to them and see what those in your vacinity are like. Put something out for them and talk to them as you are doing it. Tell them what you are doing and why. Maybe ask them what kind of goodies they like.

In the summer and fall months, I would be reading outside, and I would hear running. Id giggle and say out loud that I could hear them. then I would thank them for taking care of my plants. who 'they' were, i Dont know for sure, but it was fun, cant wait to hear them again.

I haven't seen fairies, but my Grandparents would talk about them especially my Grandfather when we would be out in his garden and he would leave a special drink out for them. They told me about all kinds of different fairies, elves, and spirits and that they came from Poland here to this country with them too. I always believed in them, just never saw them, Grandpa said I was always trying to hard to see them. Now, I have felt them like Morgana said, that spider web feeling, on the face, arms, legs etc. while walking in the fields, woods, around streams and other water also in the garden.

I am glad to know what that 'spider web' feeling is now, I get that all around my yard when I am out and about doing gardening. I really want to see some fae in my yard now. I will try the honey and lavender, I think. Do you think that my cats might scare them away? Or is it more likely that they'd have some 'fun' with the cats?

No P. I don't think the fae will have much problem with you cats.

Recently had an extreme amount of Fae visitors. I use Fae to include the other creatures around w/ them.

I've begun seeing lil' people in trees in the yard, tiny mounds popping up in the empty lot in front our trailer, when the cats go out its funny cause one of the faires will distract while another will sneak up behind & pull the tail or swat the but making them jump. Then they run cause the cats chase'em. Garfield is the 1 who gets it the most. Lol for a cat he don't pay attention good. They also distract garfield so the stray neighbor cat sneaks up on him. Angel is more aware so its usually garfield they go after.

From my contact with them this week, their are different tribes/races/whatever you want to call it.

They drive cisco (my grouchy chihuahua) crazy. He's begun growling & barking out the windows at'em. & runs & hides under the covers more so they can't find him. Monae (roomies pit) loves them. She chases them, they chase her, all thru the house. Monae loves it. Monae runs around in circles in the livingroom when they pull her tail, trying to catch them before they take off to another room. Lol

Aurora (roomies 2 y old) plays & laughs with them. Lil' things come up missing then show up in even wierder places then when Aurora hides things. Truck keys always get hung near door but found them twice in washer. Lois takes jay to work, older two kids to school, comes home, hangs key by door. Twice later on she went looking for the keys only to find them in the washer where she had not been near.

My stuff comes up missing then after I go thru everything I find my lil' bells & ear rings & things where I would not have put them.

I always heard you was Not suppose to thank them with the words "thank you" as they see that as an insult. Yet I see many here say to thank them.

For me I feel a emotional connection & get a sense they can read my emotions like for being appreciative to them. Also when I say I talk to them its more of a telepathic communication via emotions & images in my head/third eye.

I can hear their laughter. It sounds like bells. Some light, some strong & booming.

Finally last nite found out who the man is I been dreaming of since I was a child. He's a fairy man. Never seen his face that I can remember to hold onto. But he glows a golden color tan body with gold blonde hair & the aura ssurrounding him that reaches out to me is one of warm protective security like. Its like being wrapped in the sun instead of a blanket. Like how you would stand outside on a perfect summers day & feel the sun just beam down on you & its puts your mood to such contentment.

Oh the other thread I started about my otherworld creature popping in & out a hole in the earth in a dream. Well he's another "type" of fairie. He's more of the earth race/tribe.

I don't see or sense supernatural things by ordinary.

When my wife Karen died suddenly a few years ago I had for several days a very strong sense of people around who I took to be fairies, they appeared like the hypnogogic illusions which appear before sleep, only stonger and not just before sleep. I had a clear picture of one face of a woman with sharp features laughing at me, without hostility, it wasn't unpleasant, but without any sentimental pity either.

I was of course a little strange in the head for those few days anyway, but the sense of people actually around me was strong enough that I still think of it as a real thing.

On an intellectual level I've always thought of fairies as spirits of the dead, the king and queen of the fairies in Chaucer's Merchants's Tale are Pluto and Prosperine....so perhaps that is why I took the sense of having "people" around in that context as fairies....but it was also I think because the feeling-tone was "light" not spooky or like encountering a ghost.

This is kinda off topic but a funny story about fairies. In the UK there is a dishwashing soap called "Fairy Liquid".

I was learning to read and asked my granny what the word "liquid" was. I then put 2 and 2 together - getting 5, and apparently burst out keening because I thought that "Fairly Liquid" was made of fairies and thats why it made bubbles and got the dishes clean.

You may also want to try a fairy door. You can buy them or make them. Before you put it up , write on the back of the door the hours of operation so they know when they can come and play and when they can't. Fairies are attracted to neat and tidy places. Dark fairies are attracted to mess and chaos. I am dealing with fairies myself. My son can see them. I cannot. Before I could put up our fairy door, it disappeared and reappeared 2 days later. They can be trickers and they love shiney things so just be aware of that. They love to hide things and make you feel like you are going crazy.
