Dragons

A few weeks ago I did a meditation and I met a Dragon Spirit guide. Since then I have been researching Dragon Myths and Dragonic Magic. I was wondering if any one else had any experience with Dragon Spirits? Or any other mythical creatures for that matter.

two years ago I met a dragon spirit. A few weeks later I was talking to a friend who drew peoples spirit guides, he drew mine & one was the dragon, the exact dragon I had seen. I always had a thing for dragons & thought I had one as a protector. I bought a dragon mythology book & dragon incense holder witch I burn every other day. I show respect to my dragon as he has warned me & protected me at times in my life.

When I was thirteen I saw a huge dragon manifest in front of me. It scared the shit out of me at the time but later I thought I shouldnt have been scared, because it didnt do me any harm.

I really like working with my Dragon companion. He's playful and pushes me to experience new things in this life. To me working with Dragons is an expression of my soul. They are wise and free creatures, and from them I have learned a lot. I do personally feel honored that a Dragon chose me. I never expected it to happen.

For me they are just another sort of spirit to work with. They are just a different type of spirit with different energies. Some websites on Dragonic Magic mention Dragon deities, and I personally haven't worked with them yet. I just want to get to know my Dragon companion before I do anything else. Besides there are all sorts of deities and Dragonic energies out there. I just have to open up to them.

I think I work with my Dragon much like other people work with other types of spirits. I thank them and give them energy and other types of offerings as an honor. I don't work for them, but with them. I do love involving my Dragon companion with my sexual practices. Just today I asked him to take the sexual energy I had raised and help me direct it towards my goal of having my fiance get the right employment.

I just wish that there were more "positive" myths and stories about Dragons in Western Culture. It seems to me that in the West many people still view them as "monsters" when they aren't like that at all. They are wise and powerful beings that just got misunderstood through out time. My personal view is simaler to that of the East, where they are wise and full of respect.

Right now I'm working on incorporating Dragonic elements into my witchcraft practice. I am a witch, but I also have a Dragon companion. I feel it is only appropriate for me to start working with him as well. I know there are many spirits out there. I just happen to have befriended a Dragon.

Some of my healing work involves the use of the Holy Animals of Chinese medicine. I just presented a paper on this subject over the weekend.

Ancient Chinese mythology.

The Dragon gods presided over the seasons and the division of the world. They were 5 in number.

East – Blue (or Green) – Spring

West – White – Autumn

North – Black – Winter

South (2 gods) – Red and Yellow – Red for Greatest part of the summer; Yellow for the last month of Summer.

Eventually, over thousands of years, this evolved into different animals representing the different cardinal points and the following:

East:

Blue/Green Dragon

Spring

Wood

Planet – Jupiter

Liver and Gall

South:

Phoenix

Summer

Fire

The Sun

Planet – Mars

Heart and Large Intestines

West:

White Tiger

Autumn

Wind

Metal

Planet- Venus

Lungs and Small Intestine

North:

Black Tortoise

Winter

Cold

Water

Planet – Mercury

Kidneys and Bladder

Keep in mind that the animals are NOT restricted to only helping people based on the above lists. They are strong in those areas, but they are able to help in all areas.

Having a Dragon companion is wayyyyy coooollll!.

When I was younger had my first pony, around 9 or 10 a off white dragon manifest in front of me and my pony. It scared the shit out of my pony he jumped and ran under a apple tree, with a limb so low I fell off under my pony and still holding onto the reins he stepped on my chest and broke my nose, my pony ran out in the road and I saw the dragon actually push him off the road right before a semi truck was to hit him. The truck driver stopped and helped me catch my pony and could not believe he missed my pony. That dragon has been my lifetime friend and companion, although at that time I remember yelling at the dragon that it was stupid!

Many years ago I had a friend bring over another friend and he was pissed that he brought him to a house that had dragons all around it. He wouldn't get out of the car until I came out and escorted him in the house. He was trying to get into world wide wrestling and all he did is flex his *lovely* muscles, and my daughter and her girlfriend went google over him, 12 years olds, they were in Love! :cloud9:We had a great laugh after he left! In fact every now and then we bring it up when his name comes up and also tease my daughter :roflhard: :roflhard::roflhard:

I have done dragon magic and I felt that it was a very powerful ritual. Dragons are also in my animal oracle and have warned me of very dangerous situations - which I should have heeded. It would have saved me time from the hospital.

http://elswet.50megs.com/dragons/rites/dedication.html That's a ritual I've come across to "call" to Dragons. I comunicate with my dragons like any other spirit, through meditation and journey work. I never called my first Dragon to me. I simply asked to meet a spirit guide and a Dragon appeared. I hope this helps you get an idea as to how to call some Dragons. Like any other practice it's very personal, so find what works for you.

I have tried working with dragon energy once or twice before. It felt very different to anything I had worked with ... the sort of feeling when you visit zoo, and a lion paces up and down following you as you walk round its cage. You know it cant get to you, but the feeling is enough to be unnerving! Although, I have had some positive results, too, and I liked working with it.

Dragons have always been w/me. I work w/ five particular ones -for many years now. Have never felt anything like "dragon energy" before. They are comrades and allies, defenders, protectors, and guides. They (mine) do not obey orders, but chose to help. They have been with me from the begining and I know they will stay until the end. They cannot be seen by to many, but I see them everyday. They are my totem, because this is what they wish to be. They are first, last and always. (They wanted me to write the last part, vain proud creatures that they are!)

I asked one night to dream of my spirit/protector animal and i had this wonderful dream about a beautiful white dragon, she was just the most calm, serene beautiful and huge dragon and i went right out and bought a book on working with dragons etc. I can't remember what it's called but i do feel the dragons energy from time to time when i need her - or when i need to protect my home I call upon dragons to walk the perimeter scaring off would be theives and people who mean harm - they are wonderful beings to work with.

incidently i wear my dragon belly barbell all the time, i rarely change it to anything else, i feel it keeps me in contact with them :D

What a perfect summation of dragons!

In our past dragons were indeed considered to be "comrades and allies, defenders, protectors and guardians". They were guardians not only of "their" people but also of the earth. It was only with the coming of christianity (at least to the British Isles) that they were transformed and villified, made into an "evil" force to be feared.

I have seen them all of my life in the astral plane/dream state with one large rather scary black and red one always present, who would tell me, "One day you will know me and you will belong to me.", and would grab hold of my wrist.

My partner has always had an affinity for dragons and as he grew up, believed himself to have the soul or spirit or whatever you will, of a dragon. He never shared this with anyone. When we first met, as strangers, without introduction in a totally random occurance, by accident I bumped into him and he grabbed my wrist and said "there you are, my pixie." I should have run screaming (lol), but I said "So you must be my dragon." (note my avatar)

He certainly fits the description to a T that Crone wrote. A staunch defender of the things he holds dear and his beliefs, a fearsome adversary and obeys no orders (no, not even mine - dragons DO NOT take out the garbage!) At the same time fair and non-judgemental, kind and a lover of the earth and nature. I see his work as perhaps "dragon inspired" as he works for the rights of workers and faces off with corporations and their lawyers - kind of like the dragon guarding his village from the evil invaders lol. Many people are downright frightened of him.

As a child when I told my Granny of my dreams and asked her if dragons were real, she told me that they most certainly are, but not everyone can see them and that one day I would meet one. Strangely, she also called me "pixie". Tell me there is no magick.

I've never worked with Dragons or Dragon Magic for that matter. But this surely intregues me as I am drawn to them someway, and respect them for the creature they are. I will have to research them further, to see if they will allow me to be in their company. Thanks for the links, I feel I've been pleasantly nudged .
