Leigh
It wasn't until the second season I could get into this show, but I have found quite enjoyable to see how they try to explain folktales. And Dean isn't half bad to watch either. ;)
Moonshine
I love this show! (Yep, Dean is easy on the eyes. ;) ) I'm wondering how the writers' strike is going to affect it. Anyone know? I'm afraid we might have to wait until next year to see how Dean gets out of his contract with the Darkside. :(

If negotiations don't come through soon, it'll be a wait to find out what happens.

Leesa
My friend is in the movie industry and has done a few day calls on this show. From what she has told me there's only a few new episodes left and then I guess there'll be repeats... <sigh>

Autumn
I absolutely love this programme and the fact that it's got two total honies in it is a definite bonus ;) The episode which was on Sunday night was especially intriguing, 'A Very Supernatural Christmas' in which Sam and Dean investigate an 'evil' Pagan couple who tell them they are Pagan gods and that killing and eating people is their right. It refers apparently to the Anti-Santa (?) Now, I'm a little fuzzy on the whole Santa mythology, am I right in thinking that it was indeed originally a Pagan god of some form? They mentioned a name in the programme but I can't remember what it was. Obviously the whole thing about eating people gives Pagans yet another bad image I guess, but I did like how they made sure everyone knew that Christmas was originally the Pagan Yule and that the Christians hijacked it. Sam actually mentioned that Jesus was supposed to have been born in spring not December - I'm sure the Christians probably complained about that comment. My partner asked me 'is that true?' and I liked the fact that I could say yes! I'm still undecided about which side of the argument to fall with regard to human sacrifice - did it really used to happen or is it just Christian propaganda? So, can anyone elaborate on the original version of 'Santa', I only know bits of info about this. Next weeks episode is entitled Malleus Maleficarum. I didn't want to read the synopsis in case of spoilers, but what do you all think - will it be another attempt at Witch-bashing? Obviously they have to make it interesting so it will be all 'hyped up', but it's making me a bit nervous thinking of how they will potray Witches. So far I don't think Supernatural has really delved into Witchcraft properly from what I can remember.

Guest Willowphoenix
No, I haven't seen it yet. Is it really good?Well, i think so, but i must admit there are times when they seem to get some of their folklore confused.... or maybe thats just me, i'm very easily confused!!!!Its definitely good entertainment and the actors in it aren't bad looking either. Ancestral Celt
I'm still undecided about which side of the argument to fall with regard to human sacrifice - did it really used to happen or is it just Christian propaganda? It did happen; the druids were associated with human sacrifice by the Romans. Whether this was propaganda on the part of the invading Romans, we may never know. So, can anyone elaborate on the original version of 'Santa', I only know bits of info about this. Try these links for some additional information to that provided by Leigh: The Secrets of Santa Claus - which mentions the gods in Supernatural; The Influence of Fly Agaric on the Iconography of Father Christmas; andChristmas, Yule and the Sun King. This was supposed to be a demon shackled and forced to serve Santa or something to that effect. It was a long time ago my grandma told me that story, and I really don't remember too much about it.
