Rowan's Light
Ok I have to mention this as it's bothering me. I am reading through Abramelins books courtesy of Anjel and I haven't finished yet but does anyone knows where this info came from. There is obviously (for that period of time) a very strong Christian influence as if it had came directly from 'the lord'. To me it is highly likely that it was nicked and adapted to fit around Christianitly (whats new) is the general opinion the same of if it is accepted that it is christian where does that leave the traditional witch in vtheir beleifs on Christianity?? Ok and I havent read Keys of Solomon yet but where does this fit in as well? Escuse me if it's a daft question but I needed to get it out

To him, all thing sin the world was created by demons and that each individual had a personal angel assigned to them. The three books I sent you hun were first in Hebrew and later translated into English (it was reported that he wrote these at age of 96). Now the Greater and Lesser Keys of Solomon was by Solomon, the King of Israel. Not only was he a king...but he was also a wizard and well versed in the Qabalah (it was written that he once controlled demons by a ring he wore). Solomon was ALSO an alchemst, as well as a necromancer. Like I said before...these are all ceremonial...and educational.
Guest Dee
· Hidden Hidden Its easy to get into the trap of the Keys of Solomon and Abramelin being xtrian. Abramelin was a Jew, a Mage and a scholar. There were and are men, like Abramelin, that make it their life's work to study and understand the various parts of the torah (which for a better lack of word is the ancient jewish writings and laws). There are limitless torah scrolls that have been kept purported since the man was given the ability to write. Purportedly, there are secreted portions of the torah that are only allowed to be studied by a chosen few. Abramelin was one of those men. These torah scrolls are said to contain the secrets of communicating and controlling demons, angels and other higher beings. Basically, Abramelin broke the rules. He wrote out his studies and removed them from the temple which was never to be done. They were later found. They were then translated into German and then later in English. Xtrianity is the belief that the Jesus was the son of god and was the savior as foretold in the Bible which has been manipulated and shredded to the point where it is merely a fairy tale in my opinion. The prophecy of the arrival of a savior is foretold in the torah. However, the jews do not believe that Jesus was the one foretold. Therefore it is not xtrian. As for the reference to the Lord, I myself am not sure which of the gods is being referred to at any particular time in the ancient writings. To me, that is more of a spiritual question and does not necessarily affect the practicing of witchcraft. In my path, I work with the Archangels and their dominion, or rather, they choose to work with me. They do have a lord or master. Whether each one has the same, I cannot answer that for you because I don't know. I simply thank each one's master after they have assisted me. Studying these ancient writings is not easy. They usually open more questions than they answer. I consider myself very lucky in that I have lived and worked in area where judism is widespread and information about such things is readily available. I also read the books when Anjel provided them. Even working with the Archangels, I have questioned many friends about certain things contained therein. This has proven to be a very difficult, elusive and lonely path for me. It is not necessarily information that you need or even want to question. It is simply a different area of magick. I didn't mean for this post to become so long or windy. I believed it was time to let all of you fully see me. I work in other ways as well but I do primarily work with the Archangels. Its very difficult for most to separate them and their masters from xtrianity so I wanted to try to lift the fog a little from them for you. Link to comment
AnjelWolf
Actually Dee Abramelin left those three books to the legacy of his son, Lamech.
