I've been playing around a lot with pen and ink lately, also watercolor. Here are some examples of my projects

Your Crow would work really well as a Book Plate, but my favorite is your pumpkin, artfully rendered! Ink is always fun to experiment with, try it on blotting paper.

Look Onyx. a fellow watercolorist.  This stuff is really good.  You have a natural feel for organic forms.  Keep going!

Thank you guys so much for the feedback! Yeah I'm having fun playing around with watercolor-- the tough part for me is not putting it on too thick, letting the brightness of the paper come through. I've considered trying gouache as well, but I thought I'd stick with this for a bit longer. One thing at a time lol

Gouache certainly has it's place but my humble suggestion is to develop a style with the transparent  watercolor pigments first.  I rarely use gouache even in winter paintings.  Just have a brush in your hand as often as possible.
