Runic Dreams

Recommended Posts

Twice now I have had very vivid dreams concerning Elder Runes.

They are really just lightning flashes but very clear.

A rune spread will appear as though I have just cast them, perhaps one rune will come into focus and be radiating a gold or amber light, but within seconds it will split in two, revealing a mirror image of itself emitting a deep blue or purple light..

I have never explored these mirror images before.  Not consciously anyway.

What might they mean?

What power do they hold?

What about the ones that DON"T have a mirror image, like Isa or Algiz?

Has anyone else seen these or should I avoid the red wine before bed time?

I dunno, I'd maybe go with having a bit MORE red wine at bed time - that's a pretty cool dream!

The color changes are the most interesting to me.  I've not spent much time with the Runes yet, although that's on the schedule for this winter.  But the color changes and the splitting into mirrored rune images is fascinating.  Have you asked yourself what that means yet?  I have some thoughts on it, but wanted to see what you had come up with, since it's your dream and you hold the keys to best interpreting it.

I saw a Fehu and a Kenaz mirror themselves in different dreams.  They lasted only a couple seconds.

My theory is that since everything in the this universe has an opposite counterpart, perhaps the runes do too.

If so, what is the nature of their power?  And again, what of the ones who are image neutral and cannot be mirrored?

I can't be the only one who has thought of this.

Then there is the whole "as above, so below" aspect to the mirroring.  Especially since gold is the aura of the divine, and indigo blue and purple are the colors of creativity and inspiration (among other things)
