Book list

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. So, at the risk of irritating all the not so fluffy witches around...

There is a list of recommended books that was posted in a thread, and I have been looking for this list all morning and I can't seem to find it. Can someone point me in the right direction please

Were the books centered around any specific topic, or is it a more general book request list? If you can recall any title that was on the list, that will help.

Well there is this thread: http://www.traditionalwitch.net/forums/topic/12454-book-help/?hl=%2Brecommended+%2Bbooks&do=findComment&comment=178660

Oh and there is a list in this thread. http://www.traditionalwitch.net/forums/topic/1748-needing-good-books/page-1

Honestly I think I remember a suggested list that I can’t find either, it’s probably buried in the book review section somewhere.

Beyond that, what Phaedra said.:)

Thank you. I think the second link was the one I was looking for. I remember it being in a cooler I can't read ????

It was just a general list, I thought it was hidden somewhere i the starting a traditional path thread...I was pretty sure it was in a thread that had nothing to do with books. But the green list looks familiar.

I thought there was one in that thread too. HMM. Anyway, short of all that- I'm sure you have seen the book reviews section. TONS of stuff there.

BTW, as to you original post- books aren't fluffy- well some are- but wanting good books isn't fluffy. People who only read and don't practice- that's fluffy.  There is also the fact that you learn more by doing than just about any other way. But, one does need a place to start.  Also, honestly I think I learned more from reading these forums than any book I have read, and I've read a bunch :).

And while I'm dishing random advice you didn't ask for... Books that aren't technically about "witchcraft" are often, well, about witchcraft. Folklore, science, herbalism, animal behaviors- we are trying to understand the threads that move the marionette.  HOW you move the threads will come naturally and be very personalized in nature- so books are like the looking at a recipe, and realizing it's a good idea- but you can make it better with your ow ingredients and tweaks.  Sorry- been alone all day. Compulsive "talking."

Oroboros, I love random advice I didn't ask for. On most subjects at least....

I am looking up books I can store on my phone or tablet for work. I have a lot of free time for reading at work but I work in an environment where I can't have certain things visible.

My favorite book that actually started me on this path as a child was Michael Jordan's Encyclopedia of Gods. I do keep a few not so witchy books around for reference as well.
