My wife showed me this video and this band is amazing!!
Now I’m not very familiar with the Scandinavian culture beyond watching Vikings on history channel but this is fuckin amazing and I’ll be doing some research on the old Norse bits from now on.

Heilung!!! That live show blew my soul away! I have been listening to Ofnir for about a year, I knew they would be good live, but THIS?

 

I adore them, so authentic. Never seen a live ritual like this before.

This briefly reminded me about Tuomas Rounakari, a finnish shaman violinist. He has studied old Siberian and arctic shamanistic traditions and ritual songs. He now plays those songs on violin, playing the shaman drums with ankle bells. I think he also teaches lament courses? At least Spotify has his record, Shamanviolin.



Not directly related to the original post, but thought I'd share if anyone was interested!

yeah no problem ya'll.

they just struck a record deal and are going to be re releasing they last album along with some new material in the coming year so be on the look out.

 

and Cherry yeah thanks for adding that video its very cool, I just love the stuff that can take us back in time just by listening to it.
