Some are born to sweet delight,

Some are born to endless night.

Thanks:)

I can't even explain this animal, other than his name is truly appropriate. He is brilliant but goofy as hell. Affectionate, but amazingly ornery and stubborn.

Hilarious video :D

I often joke that our cat is "special" and must have gotten brain damage from being at death's door before we saved her life as a kitten... I joke with my bf that "if she wasn't home schooled, she'd take the short bus to school" Hehehe - she does some truly inexplicable things, especially for a cat.

And his chillin position is exactly the same as my crazy cat's! Check out the pics I posted of her a while ago:

This is one of her favorite places to hang out - between my knees -

Aww! My last dog was a Loki (A husky mix). My current male dog is Odin. Now I'm wondering if all Loki dogs live up to their names.

Lol that's so great. Kind of reminds me of my cat - she sleeps with her neck sticking out like she's on the chopping block. Pets are so weird.

That's why we love them though!

So weird- not a single post on this thread alerted me in notifications since June.  Only saw this now because it was in the "recent posts" column...

Poor dude lost his balls some months back.  Today we went for the first routine vet visit since... He WAS VERY EXCITED.  I think he maybe thought he was getting them back:)  Less excited when he got shots instead.

@ Merianna- Is your pup blue eyed?  I notice the blue eyes seem to make the red eye phenomena very very extreme, he even has red eye shine in low light- as opposed to the typical green or yellow eyeshine.  A few people who have met him at night have literally ran away because of this- which is ironic as he is a most ridiculously non-threatening beast.

@IB very cute cat

@Duchess- I have since been told that Loki is a quite common name for Husky breed dogs.  I guess the idea of naming his ornery ass after a trickster was not original after all.  Oh well - it fits him.  And from what I have heard- I do think they tend to live up to the name.

@Odalibuc- right?! :)

I would also like to go on record that Loki is definitely a fan of Pennsylvania.  He thinks squirrels are WAY more exciting than the cats he used to stalk.  I am not sure what he thinks about deer, other than he is truly fascinated by them.  We have a family that frequents our yard, including some white spotted babies.  Loki just ceases his hyperactivity and sits down (he never sits down unless made to) and stares at them intently.  Obviously a fan.  But I can't tell if he thinks they are friends or dinner.  I think he is leaning toward friends.

In keeping with the original topic...

Does anyone else's dog try to eat briars and thorns??  If so, does anyone know WHY they do this?

He has done this since trying to eat a rose bush on his very first walk as a puppy.  It CAN'T feel good.  He is non-discriminating.  Any plant will do, as long as it has thorns it inspires biting- apparently.  If it doesn't have thorns, he is not interested. (Unless of course it is a woody branch or stick.  Sticks of course are fascinating.)  If he succeeds in getting a bit of briar before I can pull him away, I have to pry it out of his mouth.  Seriously.

(My last dog ate lip gloss. He would go in visitors purses.  Stand up and get it off the vanity to steal a tube.  The more pink, sparkly, fruity, whatever the better.   He went about with one pink paw for a week because of his addiction.  That was weird too, but somewhat more understandable.  I figure it was partly that some of it is sweet and partly because his comrade -a ferret we had at the time- liked to steal bras and hide them.  You can put two and two together.  But, I digress.)
