Spirited Away

This is one of my all time favorite movies. I'm not an anime fan but this movie is beyond that. It is a Hayao Miyazaki movie. Most of his films are wonderful.

During her family's move to the suburbs, a sullen 10-year-old girl wanders into a world ruled by gods, witches, and spirits, and where humans are changed into beasts.

It is beautifully animated and full of creatures I could never even dream of.

I'm including a few shots from the movie because it is freakin' gorgeous.

If you haven't seen it you are seriously missing out!

Studio Ghibli is excellent and has a lot of beautiful imagery. They have a lot of wonderful films to offer, especially some of their older films that have a mystical theme to them.

I have loved everything I have seen of Studio Ghibli. The Grave of the fireflys was almost unbearably sad. My absolute favourites are Spirited away and Howl's moving castle.

"No Face" keeps comming to my mind lately; maybe it's a warning, or just that someone I've met reminds me of that spirit :ermm:

It's my personal favorite animation house, and let's not forget that the project which united them was The Last Unicorn. Now if only Ghibli (not to be confused with Gimli, the hospital at) would animate The Innkeeper's Song.
