This deck is breathtaking, simply gorgeous! 36 major arcana cards of beautiful arts. Definitely a collector deck with 14 new major arcana cards added to the original 22 major arcana cards.

14 new major arcana cards! Where can I see the deck, and who sells it?

Thanks.

Hm, call me a stickler for tradition but how can you have 14 new extra major arcana cards? A tarot deck has an established set of major and minor arcana cards. Sorry sounds like another oracle deck trying to pass itself off as a tarot deck.

To me that sounds like one of the playing card decks that's all face cards and then trying to pass it off as a regular 52 card deck because it has bicycle or rider on the back cover.

I bought this deck in Spain. Cost quite abit because it is a collector deck.

I have not use it yet, the new 14 major arcana supposedly comes from the lost keys and wordings in the original 22 major arcana.

Me too...especially the additional 14 major arcana. I find it difficult to justify 14 more MA cards.

Does seem a bit much

I tried to google this deck, looked on amazon, all sorts of shite...to no avail. I really want to know why the creators of this deck felt the need for all the new MA cards, and what they were, and their meanings. The pics do not show all the cards, which made me feel like I needed to look. I can't make any judgements about the deck one way or the other without more info.

That being said, I'm a one-deck kinda girl. I'm certainly not a collector by any means and I truly love and feel attached to the deck I am currently using.

If more info about the deck could be posted I would appreciate it. I really don't see any need for new MA cards, like I said, but now I am simply curious as to what is up with that.

I'd love that thank you! Is it an individual deck- meaning is it a one of a kind from an artist who only literally made a deck or two?

I don't think so but this is a special silver gilded edition published by independent occult press. They have a wooden box with their artwork on it to keep the deck but I did not buy it.

Sad really 14 new cards to convey things that are already covered and conveyed with the traditional greater arcana if you know how to read them. But have to admit it lost all credibility when it used "Karma" as one of the purposes for consciousness. A word and concept that comes from eastern mysticism and would not have been around and especially not using that word to tie it back to the old pallor game from which tarot is believed to have originated.

Thanks for the links bewitchingredhead. Myself I got tired of trying to figure out what the actual deck name was.

Nah it's what we'd call a P.T. Barnum deck. Designed for the sole intent of getting your money under the guise of it being a collector edition or special edition. No different in that regard than the many stamps, coins, etc that are issued for the sole purpose of those who collect them and never intended to use them.

Sorry i'll stick with my old Rider Waite deck

Well you have the choice to use just the main 22 major arcana cards so by providing extra 14 new major arcana cards will not make any major difference at all. I do enjoy his art works on the whole as an artist not as a witch. It is more of a personal preferences, some like their cuisine more al dente some prefer to add a little personal touch and taste. Thank you for sharing.

You are right in a way some decks, writings or other products are designed and marketed solely to give a run for your money in guise of collector edition or special edition. There are many such stuffs in the market. Good old Rider Waite is still the Iconic deck in history till this very day. My first deck is Rider Waite. It has accompanied me through my childhood years till today.

You're welcome- I know Spanish (my hubby is also Hispanic) and the first thing I thought of when he said it was from Spain is to search for it how it would be spelled in Spanish, not English. Plus I did an image search, so between those two things I pulled up a ton of stuff.

I really dig the art.

My readings would probably gargle balls with it though, considering that I have little luck with other decks besides my own. My mom gave me a Daughters of the Moon deck when I was a kid with lovely art that I just could not connect with, maybe because it was so pretty. I think I would have a similar issue with this one, almost as if I were handling a first edition of Gone With the Wind. It would seem like using the good China to eat Kraft mac-n-cheese.

Thanks for the translated pages BWR, the only thing that sucks more than my Spanish is my work schedule (7pm until 7am. Boo.).

YW :) And you totally sound like me, LOL! There are so many things I won't use bc I'm "saving it for a special occasion" or like I won't want to cut into a specially made cake bc it's too pretty, etc. My hubby's helped out a lot w/that over the years, but I still have a variety of things I feel that way about.

I recall that the trumps were originally not standardised by number or amount. Standardisation came later, after the game fell out of currency-- I myself have never played tarocci-- and evolved into the sphere of esoterica. What a lovely set of drawings. Do you suppose you will tint them?
