This if a fire poi video. The man in this video is Nick Woolsey, a rather well-known fire artist in the poi/juggling/fire tools community. Are there any other fire-happy folks on TW?

Pretty cool.  I don't do this myself, but my cousin and her SO do this kind of thing.

That was...was...I can't even describe the feelings that video conjures!  Thanks Ravenshaw!  It was fantastic, hypnotic and relaxing.  What an artist!  I loved the music too.  Anyone know who the music is by?

If anyone is interested in learning it, there are tutorial videos available on youtube which are very accessible, and it's easy to practice (just tennis balls in socks until you get good). It's so meditative, and that first time you light up your own set of poi and hear that fire, right in the chains you're holding....ah! It takes you to a whole new level. Fire poi opened up a whole new world of fire equipment to me, many of which I use in my craft. Plus it goes great with belly dancing.

Rainey - I'll see if I can find the song for you!

Wow... love it. He's so graceful. It's hypnotic to watch.

Did anyone else see something come from the shadows and attach itself to Nick's left leg?

Here's a woman, Emma, who's so graceful. I love the way she moves : http://www.youtube.c...h?v=eoN1WEIeaHc

That hooping is entertaining as hell on so many levels! Fire and a beautiful woman, who ever that woman is talented and is a great dancer too.

I love anything with fire especially when it is expressed through art such as dance and music. If you like fire go to a Ramstien concert they are amazing!

Ooooh I hope to do a veil poi dance routine very soon - bit more practice needed.

Out in a woodland with Poi is something special

IT won't be until at least June, as I'm doing it for a Bellydance event, but plenty of practice is needed as I'm new to it, luckily enough I won't have to use too many tricks and in the meantime have to buy more Poi as my blood dog ate one
