Sarafina
I have tried so many different ways of making my red spaghetti sauce and finally found a way that is IMO the best. It's very simple and I think that is what makes it the best. 1-28oz can of Dei Fratelli Tomato Sauce (Yes it does have to be this brand name of sauce, as I have tried others and they are not the same)About 1/4 cup of Extra Virgin Olive oil (I know it seems like a lot, but it really adds a great flavor to your sauce)About 1 TBL of oregano (Start off with a little less to be sure you have enough, you can always add more)A pinch or tow of red pepper flakes (I keep mine more mild because of my kids, but you can add more if you want more heat)Salt and pepper if you want and to your taste. Sometimes I don't add them in. You can also add in garlic powder if you wish. I love this sauce so much that I find I can eat just the sauce by it's self. It is something you can play with as well and can only make it better. If in the mood I will add some red wine to it or brown ox tail or beef ribs then add in the sauce to add more depth to the sauce. try it and play around with it. The way I figured out the recipe for this was eating at Macaroni Grill and I loved their sauce, I am pretty good at tasting something and figuring out how it is made. Also wanted to add, that you can by all means used canned whole tomatoes and just crush them instead of the canned sauce.
